Anyone tried some of the techy carbon pads like Hawk HPS or Performence Friction Zs? Carbon pads appear (according to the spec sheets)to have the widest operating heat range and good cold friction, if proven to be the case this should make them the best multipurpose pad. Is anyone using or have used this type of pad, and if so their thoughts and experiences will add to the debate.
I have found Mintex 1144 rears(std discs) and 1155 fronts (285mm groved discs)along with braided hoses and Motul RB600 fluid an excellent combination for road and track(and good value). Although I'm still prepared to try a new set up if provided with positive feedback, the front Mintex pads are down to less than 4mm so will require changing shortly should I be fitting Hawk HPS'S?

My son swears by SBS ceramic pads. He used to use Mintex 1144's but since moving to SBS has found pad life has doubled, gets no glazing or brake grab and a more consistent pedal. They are a bit more expensive, but better than the Mintex camel poo pads.
BTW, I helped Mintex develop the carbon metallic pads in the early 90's and my sons cv is here:
