That's usually the Fiat/Tolyatti story. For what it's worth, I've looked at earlier and later cars which have been full of holes in largely the same places (won an LSE on eBay last year which had sills and a boot floor made of fresh underseal).

I have had a few - currently got a very early "A" 2 door. The webasto leaks so it is currently sporting plenty of very natty duck tape.

I am not enough of an aficionado to care about that so I am thinking of chopping it in for a nice late 2 door. Defintiely prefer the cloth interior, no electrics and "mini metro" dash.

I have PM'd you.

It's not rough - very nice underneath, crap roof and not very good interior.

I am not sure it is Lincoln green either.

I am on the lookout for a 71-73 preferably suffix A 2 door classic. Ideally to be sound and good condition. Good money paid for the right car!!
Any help greatly appreciated, and if it's in Scotland that's a bonus!!

Thanks, can see it looks brighter green on the computer.

Yep - I think they definitely suit the "matt" colours more.

I've always been Range Rover Classic fan ever since i 1st saw one & i've always wanted one, especially a V8!

Make that a 5 door post 88 Vogue SE with leather too. Especially since 3 doors are already way out of my price league!

That car has been doing the rounds recently, it was originally for sale on C&C in Devon and sold by an old chap for something like £800, then re-listed on eBay the following week for £2.5k, but I don't think it got much interest. Will be interesting to see what happens.

Get out of here with your collection of old Landies!

Makes me very jealous!!

I own a '67 109" SIIa myself but have always wanted a RRC, the prices for good ones are going silly now though frown .

I'm confused.

Been talking to a serial RR owner and he's advised me to avoid the Series 2 like the plague. Not sure if his definition of a Series 2 is the same as the OP's or is that a factory designation ?

Another question, is the 3.0 litre diesel OK ? Seen a 2002 model that I like but really know almost nothing about RR's.

Any advice welcome.

He means the P38 that came after the Classic.

Lovely cars. Cheap. Riddled with electronic issues.

If you go to any Rangie forum they are dominated by a million threads with the title 'My P38 won't start'.

Anyone know what these two made at the auction? The results are not posted on their website yet.

Doesn't surprise me about the CSK. Firstly the whole market appears to be taking a breather from silly prices as we enter the final Q. Plus, just like the original boost in Soft Dash values has fallen away so, I think, has the CSK somewhat.

The last few sold in London at top prices were messes that owners are still trying to sort and the chap in MK who had about 5 racked up in a field ready for turning out appears to have left the market after getting lumbered with the Jimmy Savill RapeMobile.

£65k is serious money, very serious, if it is not a perfect restoration by a known party.
