Electric Ferrari - to rescue an accident damaged one? Why not
- Ferrari themselves make a solely electric powered car? Never, well not at least while there is a single drop of petrol left
On the same site they talk about a full electric Porsche and Aston Martin being released so why wouldn't Ferrari follow suit?- Ferrari themselves make a solely electric powered car? Never, well not at least while there is a single drop of petrol left

He does realise he could buy a kit car of the 308 and modify it to his heart's content?
He's also going to lose a small fortune. Good 308 values are soaring.
Yep, but it would never be a good 308.He's also going to lose a small fortune. Good 308 values are soaring.
It is always going to be the American equivalent of a Cat C write off.
And values are just as likely to collapse.
He has done a nice job and has probably saved a knackered 308 from being broken for spares.
I'll be honest, I have no time for electric vehicles and what he has done is certainly not my scene.
But hats off to the chap for his efforts, it's much more than I could achieve.
Reminds me a little of the Toyota 2000GT where Toyota took an old 2000GT shell and made it a solar powered vehicle
It seems sacrilege but always interesting to see someone trying something a bit left field

This seems vaguely sacrilegious - and against the spirit of the original.
An electric Ferrari probably has to come one day...but it would surely be a very different animal to something like a 308.
The design and shape of a petrol mid engined car - the scoops, vents and ducts - makes functional necessities attractive through purpose. The body shape and various addenda harness natural elements - i.e. the movement of air - to help produce power.
A new electric sports car, designed from scratch, would surely have its own requirements and design signatures - which surely will in time make for attractive design.
Why look back to an iconic petrol car - however lovely - when its form, and meaning - is dictated by another era?

I hope so, I really want one, just to look at.But strangely enough, all people seem do with these things is look at them.
If you go to the classifieds and look at 328s, you will see dozens of cars with microscopic mileages.
When I bought mine it was 16 years old and had done 1500 miles

I kept it a couple of years and put several thousand miles on the clock. It was a delight.
Anyway, thread hijack over.
Back to the battery powered Ferrari...

Me too. I think the shape is almost a 70's vision of a futuristic car, and so it almost suits an alternate power source. He's gone too far if it makes the same sound as the cars from The Jetsons though.
And the Aventador's facility to spontaneously self-immolate in traffic could secure a supply of charred former supercars for these projects.
Electric Toastador anyone?
