MOT ran out 5 years ago! Looks like it may have been having some pictures taken for something as a dealer has it for sale at the moment. My pictures above were from Manchester the other day. Ties in with the dealers location too.

It's more than 40 years old, so doesn't need one. It's spent most of its time abroad, I guess the one MoT it had was when it was used & registered in the UK.

French registered E500 in Warsash today.

A real sleeper in Crystal Green.
Lovely indeed but that's a pre-facelift 500E rather than an E500, with aftermarket tinted rear lights and white front indicators.

Are those AZEV wheels minus their caps? They look great!
I asked the owner:

"Yup, 16 inch Azev"

Albert, is there any significance to the black licence plates on the older car? In the UK we can put black plates on cars over 40 years old on 1st April each year. My 1971 Triumph GT6 has them, as do a lot of much newer cars even though they are not "period correct" (a 1982 car could have them, legally, for example, although it would look rubbish).

Just curious.

Agreed.

I'm not really a fan of classic buses, trucks, tractors, military etc, but many coaches of a certain era have some lovely lines.

This must surely count as a cool classic

Never seen one before in fact I never even knew they existed.

It is a 1960s Datsun Fair Lady.

Never officially imported to the UK when new … there have been a few lately though.

You’re right. I did think it would be MOT exempt, but saw it had one a few years ago. After then seeing it on the dealers site, I can now see that it came in from abroad.

In 1978 the yellow plates were introduced. And they never looked back.
Cars built before 1978 are allowed with dark blue plates.

I’m not either, and don’t know much about them, but this one’s lovely.

Also, saw this last weekend at a local show - lovely characterful old thing

That’s magnificent. Classic Cars magazine has the concours DB4 GT value at £2.25 million in their most recent issue. It’s actually on the slide… biglaugh

Tha looks like a great example, lovely , I don't dare to ask the price eighter, way out of my reach, but cars like that make the roads or rare classic car meetings more beautiful.
