I still have my road bike that I bought new in 1986 for team road circuits.

Never altered any of the full groupo Nuovo Record on my bike made by Marinoni but with my cycling coach's Italian family crest on them.

Hmmmmm......must dust it off for a spin.

As far as I can find, Mercedes started using alloy wheels in 1970, that's ten years after the red Merc was built.

They do look rather large in diameter though. Quick search shows that someone started making aftermarket forged ones, so they could be these?
