I wonder if it was recently imported at the time or rented out to Arne during filming of something - it’s left hand drive which is unusual for Australia.

RHD is very unusual in a Corvette.

In 1975 we walked the Pennine Way, and at High Force in Teesdale the promo video for the Mk1 Fiesta was being filmed - I was reminded of it because I saw a clip of the film taken from a helicopter that flew up the valley, unfortunately I can't remember where it was!

We went past before they started filming so it was covered over and a security man was looking after it - we asked if we could look under the cover but he wouldn't let us.

The had to lift it in with the chopper, the security guy said they discovered once they were there that it was too heavy for the chopper to lift it so they had to taken the engine out - I don't know if they lifted it across separately and put it back in or somehow compressed the front springs.

Cool story.

Reminds me that in 1986 I stumbled across the filming of a promo for the Jaguar XJ40 on the Denbigh Moors. My girlfriend and I had just "stolen" her friend's VW Derby and careered off up the road for a laugh. I fear we may have ruined a scene when we pulled in to a lay-by to turn round, only to be accosted by a grumpy luvvie-type demanding we vacate ASAP.

Another tour around the gritty back streets of 1960s Glasgow. Anyone know what the car in the first photo with the mirror (or is it a trafficator?) mounted on the A Pillar is?

Humber Hawk, I think. And it's a mirror that you could clamp to the quarterlight surround.

Crockatts were a very clever company, but went in the 90’s. The other firms are still going and very strongly!

When I was a lad I customised my 100E with a pair of horns from an old Super Snipe ... the front suspension was almost unable to cope with the extra weight smile

No earlier than 1960 if what appears to be a 105E Deluxe is actually a 105E Deluxe.

I think it's an early Lotus 7. Shocking parking by the Hillman Minx convertible.

Yep, with the 105E, a Mini and a Mk2 Jag all in the picture, all of which came out in late 1959, it's almost certainly 1960 or later.
I even spy a 50's yank pretty much centre picture, could be a Buick?, and a two-tone Nash Metropolitan as well a few rows further back.

I’d say 62/63 at a push ... is that a Farnham Estate? I always thought they were as rare as hen’s teeth, but that’s only maybe now they’ve all but rusted away.

There's a '52 Chevy/Oldsmobile a couple of rows behind the Buick too.
