Yes, more please!
Brings back fond memories. You could almost do the 4th to 5th change with your fingertips with your thumb still hooked on the wheel. Such a great driving position - low, legs ahead, all those instruments in front of you, pop up lights, frameless doors.....! My mates used to give me merciless hairdresser stick but they were all secretly jealous and I was sad to see mine go. Victim of early 90's insurance nonsense - I baulked at a renewal premium not far off the value of the car.

It does look superb, such a cosseting interior, the seats look both supportive yet comfortable, ergonomics perfectly to hand; only criticism, the interior door handles look like they’ve been on the lash.
As for the ‘chunes’, unless you’re head banger ‘Frankie Goes to Hollywood’ would seem appropriate.
Odd though this may sound, I think the MKI has aged better than the MKII, though the MKII lends itself to the modding scene better.
I can see why it brings back fond memories, such a great little car.

When I was about ten, I made a car out of Lego. Four years later, Toyota launched the MR2, and I considered suing them for copyright.
It's a lovely thing, and that's a beautiful colour.
Similar thing: may dad is an artist and at the age of 9 or 10 I took to drawing cars before bed. Sensing my interest he bought me one of those green bendy things artists used to draw curves. I therefore claim that I invented the Ford Sierra, 3 years before Ford did. Sorry.

Back on topic: the Mr Two is lovely, and on the shortlist to fill my soon to be available again garage space.
Thanks all for the kind comments, some of my pics are weirdly on the missing list for some reason, but I'll put up what I have left.....

At home with the siblings......

I had to get inventive with parking and storage. I live in a town house in the city centre. In order to get 3 cars in, I first raised the kitchen and dining room floor above the garage in order to make headroom for a car on the scissor ramp. Then I knocked down the utility room behind where the Evo is in this pic to make the garage floor space bigger, and rebuilt it on the other side of the house. As you can imagine, I'm about as popular as a water infection with Mrs. Heaveho......

For those wondering what I listen to, this pic of the carplay double din I eventually succumbed to fitting may assist. I really didn't want to ruin the car by modernising it visibly, but this just makes driving it easier and more enjoyable.....

If it wasn't clear in the last pic...

I'm tempted to say Newby Hall a couple of years ago, on the MR2 Drivers club stand. It got the honour of supporting the club flag.....

I've also sourced and fitted a period, new in the box, old stock, Scorpion central locking alarm. Again, a convenience....

Started getting a bit anal after that......a local place was able to replicate the original dealer plates, rear window decal and tax disc holder. I'm a total sad act for stuff like that, but if a car is this nice, to me it helps make it all it can be......

I'm surprised and flattered by all of the enthusiasm and interest in the car, I thought it would just be one or two people who were fond of them, so thanks again for all of the kind comments.

Whilst MR2 of any iteration don't really do anything for me, I can fully appreciate the time and effort in keeping that in the condition that it's in and would take time took around if it was at a show for example.
I'm the same about most things at shows. I might never want to own one, but I'm genuinely delighted to see something that's immaculate and unusual, whatever it may be.It’s not a happy pic, but what was my old 928 (and having also belonged to another PHer) is finally in the throes of being completely stripped and dismantled having been written off in late-21…

The gearbox is being rebuilt and installed into a pristine, 2-owner S4, the leather interior into a different S4, and the remaining bits stashed. The engine doesn’t currently have a home but is providing soooo many ideas for its future use
And yes, the PH sticker is being saved…

I had the MR2 gen 1 and gen 2 after a string of hot hatches and loved them. Covered 100,000 fault free miles in each and loved them. Then Corrado 16v and next two 986 Boxster S for 300,000 miles. Had these air cooled after the above along side 997 and 991 turbos and even today I’d say the aircooled best drivers cars I’ve been lucky enough to own. I’d love to try a 348, 355, 360 and 550 but too scared of the potential bills. The 911s all bullet proof. The 993 in particular with engine built by 9m and genuine RS suspension from Greig at Heritage unbelievable with “only” 330bhp and 300 ft lbs. All modern aircooled deserve a 9m built 3.8 RS spec engine. Intoxicating and sweaty palms after every drive. Can only imagine what a Singer Classic or 911K are like they must be mind blowing.
