Just spoken to Mrs WJS68 who happens to be an architect - i am mistaken (as she will happily point out is so often the case) as we are not in a conservation area (by a couple of streets apparently) and therefore do not need permission from the council to erect a temporary structure.

However I do need her permission. Which she has denied.
I think you need to get a more understanding wife when it comes to the love of a classic Jag and not live under her thumb mate!

To be fair she's been telling me to bring the Jag down for the last 5 years - it's me that's been dithering. She'd also have no problem with me renting the lock-up - again it's me that can't get my head around paying half the value of the car each year to garage it!

I wouldn’t want an outdoor carcoon on my drive either, how crap would that look?

Totally agree mate, Carcoons are good at preserving cars parked outside.

I’d rather my car in one as opposed to being exposed to the elements if I didn’t have a garage..

There’s no doubt that they are - but I just wouldn’t want one on my drive, like a big silver box, flapping away. Luckily I have a garage …

I have an almost permanent garage crisis with lockups and storage spots all over. I have a nice drive that would be perfect for a Carcion.

Permission also (comprehensively) denied!

Smelt a lovely XJ Series I V12, in white, way, and I mean WAY before I saw it today in Guildford. Didn't/Couldn't take a photo... Made me ashamed that I didn't use mine for today's commute.

There's a rising tide of black all around that car, years ago when all old bangers were like that we used to call it 'creeping black' on account of it creeping its way up the car.

That thing wants the glass kicking out and as many laps of the oval as it can manage. It's just rubbish.
