That picture is a good guide for prospective XJ buyers to see some of the more common rust spots. hehe

April 1979, so the very first of them. I still have the brochure I got when they came out - in one factory photo, Series 2 and 3 cars are being built together.

That looks absolutely superb. As a child our neighbour had an early S3 (Daimler version) 4.2 in white with red leather. He always bought his Jaguars or Daimlers new and changed them every 2 to 3 years.
There is something about the early S3 cars that is just so appealing.

Did the missus give you permission then?? That does look nice, but I am always concerned when I see such a lovely exterior to be then confronted with such a dirty and uncared for engine bay. I'd want top see it up on a ramp to judge its true character from there, hope its all OK... good luck mate

It looks honest under there.

MOT history is okay as well.

£5500 would be about right if it all checks out.

I know it’s a very early series 3,and they didn’t come fitted with them (I as far as I can remember)but I really think it would look so much better on pepperpots..

The best Jag alloys for a series xj are Kent's IMO, I've got an immaculate powder coated set of them stashed in storage.

That’s lovely - prefer it to S3
