...like I said, there are people out there who will pay for this. Doesn't make it right, but then the Sultan of Brunei has a car collection sitting rusting and collecting dust that would put Jay Leno's to shame.
I suspect a few will go to the middle east.

Just a quick and polite notice to say that the OP won't be contributing any further to this specific thread. So fill yer boots smile

Also removed the offensive posts, which quite frankly are just not acceptable round these parts.

readit Read the posting rules. Nothing's changed as far as I can see.

If nothing else, Ronin is in breach of the rule that says you're not allowed to create multiple profiles for any purpose, ( roninexige - banned, the ronin - apparently also now banned, judging by the mod edit of his final post on this thread).

In any case, it's fairly clear from both his posts on here and his wider internet activity that one of his main aims is to provoke others. He is also on a personal crusade against Hennessy (presumably for no better reason than they've outclassed his chavtat 'ultimate' Exige with something even more pointless, albeit better looking and with a nice-sounding engine) and his concerted efforts at defamation of this marque potentially place PistonHeads at risk of legal action (we all know how litigious these americans can be...).

We all signed up to these rules and by and large the PistonHeads forums are lightly moderated, with considerable leniency.

Seems like business as usual?

Just to be absolutely clear, he's currently not banned from PH. He is free to post as he wishes anywhere on PH, with the exception of 2 specific threads. Would be nice to park (pun) this specific subject and get back on track (pun)smile

are you for real? bring it up with a moderator directly if its having such a detrimental impact on your life .. you may have summed him up but by quoting the rule book like that and with the greatest of respect it sure sums you up at the same time. i dont read his posts because frankly im not interested and im not forced to, simples....

have a great sunday.

so why do you feel the need to justify/tell us about it?

Just setting facts straight. Simple as that. End of discussion. Move on.

Think this a bit off. Frank can be a bit of a dick, a touch aggressive but he is harmless and just part of life's rich tapestry of owners. Don't think he should be banned from threads _ nobody has to read his threads if they do not want and more importantly this is 'only' the internet.

So are you saying there should be no rules on the forum, or just no moderation of those that break them?

Surely the line has to be drawn somewhere and a fairly lenient approach has been taken so far?

There are plenty of trolls on PH as well as more than a fair smattering of idiots. I do not think that there is consistency in how things are dealt with.

This post is really quite sad.

Are you envious of Frank ?

We need people like Frank who actually do stuff on here.

Frank adds a bit of colour and experience on here.

Completely agree. I'd rather have a discussion with Frank about his car etc, than fifty threads over run of the mill subjects.

But unless you take a hard-line approach of applying the rules rigidly to all, no matter the degree or frequency with which they infringe them, there is bound to be some inconsistency.

I think if you did a statistical analysis of the number of posts Ronin made versus the number of times he made personal insults or defamed others, you'd find that he has a much higher dhead ratio than pretty much anyone else.

So do we expect the mods to apply the letter of the rules, rigidly, in all circumstances, or do we ask them to use their judgement and not whinge when we don't personally agree with them? Umpire's decision is final and all that?

But surely this is a thread for the feedback forum: why not start a topic over there, if you feel strongly about it?

Is this the kind of posting we want to see ?

Pistonheads at threat from Legal action ?

There's another thread running asking if "this is the slowest of the Lotus forums". Could well be.

Well, it's fairly obvious that he is on a crusade against Hennessey; you only have to look at his post history (including his first post on a thread not a million miles from here) to figure that out.

You're welcome to your own speculations on why that might be. hippy

I did find his 'why take a Lotus and try and make it something its not' comment quite amusing, though possibly not for the reason he intended. biggrin
