It's funny how subjective colour is. I really like red Lotuses but couldn't own a red Porsche or Ferrari. And I wouldn't want any of them in bright green or orange!Shnozz said:

Id prefer a Lotus in orange, I don't mind red on a Porsche and it's defacto on a Ferrari.

I don't disagree re the Porsche and Fezza. It's white that i'm just not a fan of. Especially on Audi SUV's.
Re white - I think its a throw back to Cannonball Run but I do like Lambos in white. Most other cars I am a bit meh with it.
You say that with Ferrari but it does make it easier to sell and they do look incredible in the Rosso Corsa. I adored my 458 (in the knob head red) I'm hoping to get another one but would be open to yellow or white on the next one.
Green is still the big colour for lotus at the moment orange isn't doing the easy business it used to unfortunately. There's some crazy money been handed over for a Krypton S2 back end of last year. The Kawasaki green cup I had blew the phones up. If only the fever for green had extended to the Olive green S3! Oh well onwards and upwards.

The Elise S 134 that Jon seal is selling is interesting. Cheaper than almost all the private ones for sale and that’s from a dealer. People either cant be in a rush sell or don’t need to sell.
I’m looking to finally scratch the itch for an Elise this year but finding it hard to pull the trigger, because I don’t want to overpay incase I don’t like it and need to sell it again. Because they seem to struggle to sell. (111R and S models)

Jon seems to a lot cheaper than others in general from what I’ve seen, even private sellers. It almost sets the market. Whose going to buy an Exige privately for £48k, when Jon is advertising them for £43k with all the benefits of buying from a reputable dealer.

Managed to get £19k for it but lost £4000 on it in 2 years. I overpaid slightly but that's what the market was at the time.
I'd think carefully if your not sure it's a keeper but you could bag a bargain if your savvy.
There was a nice Autumn gold 111R being advertised on the Facebook group that probably could have been bought for £17k ish.
I'm pretty sure if you look back on this thread about this time I might have said it was about 20k right back then. I think you have done very well to get 19 for it TBH probably a bit of a sign that the green shoots of a bit of a recovery are out there now.
If anyones looking for a bit of a reason my stuff is generally better priced its pretty simple in the main I own the cars I do very very little SOR. In the world of plate glass dealers with suits/aftershave and shiny showrooms its you the customer both buyer and seller that pays for all this stuff. Most of what you'll see in the fancy places is on SOR. The dealer makes some crazy claim to the seller about the money they can get for the car and it will sit there forever. I like to get things in that will move quickly. I would say even with this approach it still only 50% of cars that go in a decent (for me) timescale. Some of the prices out there are absolutely crazy,. I just listed a 3000 mile GT410 Sport for 60. One of the places with the impressive premises...same car listed today with 4 x the mileage for 65k. We all have our own thing that works for us but I don't think any of the other big dealers have the hit rate of buybacks and repeat business I see as if you have rinsed a customer they might make a duff decision when buying but it will dawn on them they have overpaid and it really pisses people off if the feel they have had their leg lifted. I try to strike the right balance I'm not doing this job as a charity its fecking stressful and has to be well compensated for exposing your mental/physical health to it but I think usually we get them out at a good price and that gets me first dibs when it comes to buying back usually and thats been a cornerstone of the business. I'm always on the and of a WhatsApp for people as well where I think most bigger businesses as soon as they have your money you're just done and forgotten. I keep in touch with everyone (who wants or needs to) often I'm genuinely interested and happy to do so and have a lot of really good mates I've made through the business.

I hope my comment above about yours being cheaper didn’t come across as negative Jon, it was intended as the complete opposite! I was looking last night at Exiges for sale, and there’s a blue 350 on eBay at a dealer, been for sale since May last year and had £4k off the price. That’s a long time for a dealer to sit on a car.
I WILL have an Exige in a few months and I WILL be phoning you up about making that happen, due to the reasons you list above.

Not at all I'm glad you've noticed! I'll be honest sometimes I do wonder if we shouldn't just stick all the prices up and just wait longer for sales! I like to be busy though!I was looking last night at Exiges for sale, and there’s a blue 350 on eBay at a dealer, been for sale since May last year and had £4k off the price.
