There was a Tuscan with 60k on it sold a year ago without rebuild, but that seemed to be one of the very early ones and a bit of a freak occurance as I have not heard anything like that since.

I read about that before too. At a guess it could have been an AJP6 engine rather than a SP6 engine? Would be interesting to confirm.

I'm still not clear (and apologies if I have missed the point somewhere along the line) if this proposed fix really will cure the majority of the S6 issues noted in the table above?

£5k for a total fix would seem a compelling argument. especially in light of the number of 2nd and 3rd rebuilds.

I guess only time will tell, and until such time as there is some accurate data on whether what they are proposing will work long term then buying a S6 will remain a bit of an enigma.

Out of interest, my uncles 911 t has just blown its 3rd engine!

K.K.

Just back from abroad - THANKS for all the helpful posts. I suppose the old addage, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" must apply. So far I'm very happy with my 2004 S6. It just gets better and better! Lets hope it stays that way.

Cheers
