Not only speed limits. Some of us may go on to lose respect for other rules too; I know I am doing, and I don't think I'm generally an irresponsible sort of chap. This seems inevitable to me in a situation where, in my view, we now have too many rules, to the extent that our freedom (and indeed our ability) to make good judgements from our own resources is becoming steadily weakened. It seems like a vicious circle.
