If you're in the right lane because you're overtaking someone in the middle lane - who is overtaking someone in the left lane - then you're using the lanes correctly, and someone coming up behind should be making good enough observations to see the activity of the traffic ahead and to plan around it.

Takes steps not to inconvenience them for the sake of it, and obviously avoid an accident if one appears to be in the offing, but it's not on you to scurry out of the way of "their" lane, and certainly not to break the limit on their account.

What muddies the waters is the middle-lane traffic you were overtaking now accelerating "early" to effectively undertake you approaching the limit change. That's a bit poor to be honest, but all you can really do is keep an eye on them and assess whether they seem to be likely to do so, and try to pull back over so they have the outside lane to overtake in, should they wish.

I'd say a default position is don't risk the sanctity of your licence on account of someone else being a dick.
