Hi,

They run a gift "skid" course at Rockingham Circuit (Corby, Northants) in a 3 series BMW with skid frame, it's run by The Racing School (www.racing-school.co.uk/driving/skidcar.asp). It is not specifically aimed at in-depth technical skid training but you can learn an awful lot in 30 minutes driving. You actually get 90 minutes in the car (sat in the back when not driving) which is also very instructive. The instructors are there to help you, and if you want more of a technical skid course, just ask, the way it's normally run is about 50% training/50% fun but it can be varied on a person to person basis. Cost is £99.

I should also add that Rockingham now have their own, state-of-the-art wet grip area, which includes programmable water walls, a "snatch plate" and a crescent. Also they have a very long basalt tile runway (like ice) and the crescent is a Bridport surface (low grip). Here is the link : www.rockingham.co.uk/track/wetgrip.asp

Oddly enough I have been there today doing a demonstration of the wet grip facility to a gentlemen from IAM who is looking at organising some training there. If anyone wants any more info, please post here.

Yes the skid pan at Goodwood is your best bet. Its been established for 27 years, so they know their stuff.

I have worked for them in the past and the day is very knowledgable but also a lot of fun and the instructors will make your wife feel at ease.

Highly recommend them
