Just did a 6 hour round trip in the courtesy V90 loan car.

Not entirely impressed and am now seriously considering binning the order and getting something else.
What didn't you like? Was it the engine?
Well, where to start?

The engine is pretty poor, and certainly worse than the equivalent BWM version. It's rough, particularly when you are trying to wind it up a bit.

The gearbox (or gearbox software), as has been widely reported, is rubbish. Apparently, this can be somewhat mitigated by purchasing the Polestar upgrade. Why should you have to pay to sort out a design issue??

The much praised interior is not that great. Once you've spent a bit of time in the car, the shortcuts and cost cutting becomes apparent. This particular car only has c5K on the clock and the interior is already showing sings of wear. And it rattles.

The seats. Both me and my wife got out of the car with various aches and pains not experienced in other cars. However, I've ordered an R Design which has different seats to the Inscription I've been loaned.

The satnav is woefully out-of-date and looks ancient already. Also, the touchscreen method of accessing virtually everything is actually pretty distracting too.

Many of the various safety innovations simply do not work as intended and you end up checking to see if you can switch them off.

On today's damp roads, the car scrabbled around for grip, activating the traction control a lot more than I've experienced in similar cars previously.

It just shows the difference, and proves the worth of, getting a quick test drive and actually using the car properly.

Wow, that bad? The two main areas of concern I had were the engines and the touchscreen, which you have also criticised.

The engine is meant to be a superb engine but maybe the lower powered engines are not sufficient for the size of the car?

But I'm surprised about the quality of the interior. I have enjoyed Volvos for the past decade primarily based on their interiors and safety. Maybe this particular car you drove was a "Friday" car?

Yes, the R-Design seats are different, and are probably more supportive than the regular seats.

It's a shame you feel like this but perhaps try another car before you cancel your order?

There must have been something you liked about the car when you placed the order?

Lots of complaints about the gearbox by reviewers and owners. As mentioned above the Polestar remap solves the problem but at almost a grand it isn’t cheap. Also it’s premium car, these things should be spot on in the first place.
