Pressies from the wife - Built the JCB already smile

Now just noticed the Maersk ship and skip lorry in the Lego Store . . .. Oops
Pity the Tie Fighter 9492 is sold out too - would look nice next to the X-Wing

As promised here are a few photos of my new R2D2.

Had 10 modules that you built to complete the droid. It has over 2,000 bricks so took a few hours to build.
As you can see from the photo below it is a big model. I thought the VW Campervan was a big Lego set.

I've ordered it direct from LEGO's online store, £109.99 with free delivery. I assume it will now be in LEGO's physical stores too.

Quick question - when i built mine earlier in the week, it seems that the middle leg won't drop enough to allow it to go in position on all three legs and tilted. Did you have to do any fettling when building or did it all go ok?

It all seems OK lenny007 but I am frustrated that the middle leg doesn't drop when I press the lever on its back. To make it stand properly on three legs you have to pull the feet down from the outside legs so they are angled correctly.
I am going to hunt tinterweb for advice on my non-dropping third leg. Ooer missus!

Mine drops ok with the lever but won't drop far enough. Looks like my R2 will remain in "formal pose" as opposed to "action droid"!

Whilst it looks pretty good, every container on the ship, is a separate sticker.

That's more sticker's than I'd like to do.

A quick multiple choice question...

a) you know your stuff
b) you need to get out more
c) both of the above
d) Geoff Hurst in the 1966 world cup final

hehe

Ah, that's okay - I'm used to fiddly LEGO stickers after doing the Shell Ferrari cars! biggrin

Personally I don't put the stickers on. The ones on my Williams F1 car have gone all brittle and are curling up. You would have thought they were no longer sticky but as soon as you touch them to bend them back they are like superglue to your fingers and they are a right bugger to get off.

It's looking pretty bad now and I should have a cleaning session to get them all off really.

It's been a while since the Williams car was released so they have probably improved things but I'm not going to risk it.

Must admit I steer clear of the stickers.

That said, I've seen replacement sticker sets on eBay - might be worth looking for the Williams?
