I have lusted after the heatwave liveried baja ray but missed out when they were available here.
And the UDR too but the UDR needs money spending on it out of the box from what I hear?
And I only run one 6s which is an infraction.... And the running costs of that are high!!!
Another issue with larger scale stuff and to a degree the fast capable 3s 4x4s is finding a scale terrain for them, which can be challenging.
What I have found interesting with the outlaw is that it doesn't need to be going too fast to "feel fast" as it basically steers from the rear and because it's lightweight that happens very easily...
This video is a good example

I guess the tyres on the rear help with the playful behaviour. Also. I have no expanse of gravel near me like that...

First meeting yesterday with my Xray X4F'25, first time I've driven it and the first time I'd raced for 4 years.
Managed to get it round pretty well with quite a few clean laps but mistakes cost a lot of time but overall had a great day and came away with no breakages.

After enjoying racing over the winter with the frontie I’ve decided to do some buggy racing over the summer. Managed to get it round pretty well with quite a few clean laps but mistakes cost a lot of time but overall had a great day and came away with no breakages.
I’m a bit of an X-ray fan after having several of their touring cars over the years so I’ve opted for their 2wd buggy. They do a dirt and carpet version so I bought both for tuning options and spares.
I’ll get it built up in the next couple of weeks then I’ll be racing from April.
They do know how to put a good quality kit together but for the price they should be. Considerably cheaper than the touring cars though, they are crackers now.
I’m planning on doing a few of the bingley boss meetings as well as 4 rounds of the mid east brca regionals. Hopefully Coventry should have their new track open soon as well for some more club racing.
I fully expect to be at the bottom end of the table but as long as I have some good close racing I’ll be more than happy.

I'm building an Xray M18MT right now!
Apart from the bizarre mix of hex, Philips, and Pozi hardware it's a really nice kit.
Is that a new kit as I’m surprised there’s such a mix of screw types? Apart from the bizarre mix of hex, Philips, and Pozi hardware it's a really nice kit.

Yeah they are quite old now, I think they came out around 2005 or so, I had the nt18 which was fun but ultimately useless.
Are you going to run it?
I will a bit, but I'm more into the building. Mine will be getting a body from the FTX Rock Van Mini with stickers from the Lunch Box Mini. So it'll get a good trundling, but I don't race or go out trying to destroy anything. Are you going to run it?

Tyres... I bought 6 injora voodoo KLR for £18 from AliExpress and they are excellent on loose terrain but on grass or anything with actual grip it rolls over very easily so I'm going to mostly use the stock ones as they are a good match for the truck.
Otherwise I'm really enjoying it, I was dicking around with trucks in a quarry with about 100 other people all day yesterday and once I had broken my unimog trail truck and my axial rock crawler I blew off about 20'000mah of charged batteries through it and it took it like a champ with no breakages!
Apologies for the FB link...

Once again...no breakages... A miracle https://www.facebook.com/share/r/15JmWpyihr/

Built the XB2 up this weekend, as with all Xray kits it went together really nicely. Just need to get the electrics setup now, mount some tyres and it's good to go.

Looks ace bud, love all the X-ray kit models I have built, fabulous engineering quality.I hope it goes well for you when you take it racing too.

Looks brilliant, I love how that style of truck jumps. I also really need to find a place like that near me, we did have a quarry once upon a time, but I believe it was flooded to make a lake and nature reserve. Tyres...
