Returning to the original posters question, if you wanted to retain the 1400 engine for competition class reasons rather than the "buy a better car" response, what can be done?

I personally wouldn't know where to start with regards to a 1360 75hp quiksilver. I don't believe that there is much difference between the heads on the bigger engines - 1360 up to saxo vtr and 106 xs - S2 rallye (I could be wrong though).
