Can anyone who goes in ask them how to do it for the rest of us? My last car had a user configurable “speed limit” so it would beep whenever I went over. That was fine. Does this one beep when you’re bang on the speed?
What we're talking about here isn't anything to do with the speed limiter - that is easily switched on/off via the button near the gear lever and adjusted via the steering wheel controls similar to cruise. No, we mean the speed limit warning beeps which constantly sound when you're exceeding the posted limit of a given road. On a car with a nav this information is sourced via map data. It doesn't constantly beep if you're over the limit but just when you step over - I believe at +10% of the limit. I'm not prone to speeding, and obvs there is no excuse for going over the limit, but the constant nagging does get annoying, particularly so when dropping down from (say) 40 to a 30 I usually just lift off or use engine braking but by then it has already beeped (and dropped the background radio volume to do so).
The manual supplied with my car, as delivered on 31/07, describes two potential methods of switching off the alerts:
1: A "driver alerts" menu in the vehicle menu. This menu does not exist on my car.
2: A speed warnings menu in the nav settings. This menu also does not exist on my car.
I assume, unless the settings can be changed via a long-press on something or some other hidden option, that this feature can be switched off via diagnostics software at a dealers?
Fair enough.
Spotted one in Flame Red on the way home. Looked really nice. The styling did bring the 'modern day Intergrale' to mind that another poster put forward a while ago.
Could see me getting one potentially when my 275 gets too old (my next car desires change month to month of course!).

They do look great in silver, and perhaps the rarest colour. I might be biased, but I think the 18" Estorils suit the car really well - it's a shame more press cars didn't have the standard look. What does your wife think of it? My wife hates driving mine, just too aggressive for her.

The colour is good, quite a 'white' silver if that makes sense. I like the wheels, but having given the car it's first clean, I think they are going to be hard to keep nice, you can't get your hand between the spokes so cleaning then is going to be difficult. My wife hasn't bonded too well with the car yet. Its very different to the Golf GTi it replaced. She says its growing on her a bit now she's had it for a week.
14 months, 8500 miles of ownership i'm starting to feel like my exhaust isn't making the same amount of noise as it used to.
I seem to recall more loud rifle crack's where as now its typically a muffled popping akin to driving over a polystyrene takeaway box!
Not a problem, just wonder is it the car evolving or is something more to it??

I think they quiet down as they get coked up. The exhaust on my 275 popped and banged more at 6k miles when I bought it, than does now on 24k. It still does it plenty enough on the over-run if it's really hot. Does everyone elses fan go on for a minute after turning the engine off? Been doing some late shifts at work and very concious of noise.
The headlights are good on this car.
Yep same with mine - it seems quite ‘cautious’ with the fan running after shut off - even if I haven’t been particularly nailing it it’ll often run for a while (esp when been warm recently). The headlights are good on this car.
Seconded on the lights, absolutely superb.
Found this when searching for the answer myself as I got a 300 Trophy on Friday. I found out that muting the sat nav takes away the overspeed alert sound, obviously you’ll have no sat nav sound but it’s a small price to pay to get rid of the massively annoying constant beeping!
I’ve no idea why the menu options in the manual just don’t exist on these cars.

Only practical issue I’ve got with outs so far is that if it’s at all wet, when you open the boot it lets the water splash into the boot
My dog seems a bit pissed off when that happens!
Otherwise can’t fault it so far. The wife likes it too and doesn’t find it a handful when she’s driving.
