Is there ever a point where it bounces you totally off line?

Absolutely not in my experience, it's very composed over mid-corner bumps and changes. The Megane replaced a MINI Cooper S and even without Works suspension that would hop or shuffle with bumps. The Megane is FAR more refined than that.

The ride was my biggest concern before buying our 280 Cup, I'd read so much criticism. Now eight months in and yes it's firm, sure, but for me it's perfectly suitable for the character of the car and entirely usable day-to-day. The only times I notice the ride now are low-speed over really bumpy roads but I don't notice it anywhere else now. Perhaps I'm more tolerant to a firm ride, I'm also used to my VX220 which is fairly stiff so perhaps my judgement is clouded, but I really don't have a problem with the Cup. Have done many long motorway schleps without complaint too.

On an 'enthusiastic' punt along interesting roads it's absolutely terrific, I certainly haven't driven anything that grips quite like it. There's some really clever work gone into the suspension. From my limited exposure to Abarths I expect you may find the Cup a bit more compliant.

I'd have been interested to try a Sport chassis but as we were buying used, and all the early cars (2018) came with Cup Chassis, this was largely irrelevant to me.

Finally they started to take orders on facelift RS here today and it's only EDC now as well.
Really not sure what to do.
The car supposed to be daily, but my traffic is absolutely not congested and I wanted manual so much.
Previously I had Porsche 981 with PDK and was so sorry I did not get it manual for more involvement.

If you want manual, this can be on your driveway in about 3 weeks: https://www.gateway2lease.com/cars/renault/megane-...

Yep, not here.
For the last 2 years they sold only 2 pre-facelift RSs, both EDC.
Just wonder why Renault axed manual RHD cars as in UK sales were good enought, I suppose.

How does this stack up against the 300 Trophy. Also is this a good deal? Been looking for a 275 with Recaro and Akra, but this may be a better deal.

It is essentially the same car, including the asbo exhaust button.

Someone posted earlier in here about how muting the sat nav mutes the stupid speed warning chime. Tried this but doesn’t seem to do the trick. Anyone managed to do this and if so could advise how they did it please? Thanks

Manual facelifted RS and Trophy appeared on Irish site today , meaning the factory can actually do manaul RHD cars.
Sent another request to my dealer to clarify with the factory if manual car now can be ordered. Fingers crossed.

They did add them to the UK site as well but in error

My dealer told me today that although manual RS is on Irish site, production of manual cars will start only in March, thus it may appear on Uk site again by that time.
Was pushing me EDC, but I told it's manual or nothing, so still waiting when they actually start taking orders closer to production start.

Our facelifted RS has arrived, just some pictures of the new bits. It's a very nice improvement over the last model.

Infotainment improvements look good, hate to admit it though, I'm glad we've managed to avoid having to have one.

Anyway I don't think Megane, in any spec, will be long for the UK, I see it being dropped next year at some point.

When I bought mine the dealer said they sold x5 within weeks of having one in the showroom vs x2 prior to that for months without one.

Wow, that central screen is much more like it! The whole central console is just a massive improvement, looks great.

The rear-lights are a bit more subjective but they certainly look more modern, smoother, and the repositioned turn-signals widens the look of the car a little.

The all-screen binnacle makes much better use of the display, more meaningful differences between driving modes and I guess you can get maps and nav in there now?

We ran a Trophy for a year, we didn't sell 1, we actually have very little interest or enquiries on them where we are based.

I'm looking at a 2019 Trophy, but I've read a few horror stories about the lithium batteries (DESS?) completely draining and immobilising the car. Is this a real thing to be concerned about or just a few isolated cases? The car would be in daily use, but quite a few short journeys of 3 miles mixed in with a few longer runs - about 8k a year in total.

Thanks
