My dad who is sadly no longer with us used to own a 2CV, many fond memories in that car. Will always be a special car to me – hope to own one myself one day.

I may well have seen you in the past then - I've known Pete Sparrow and Neil Thompson (if he's still involved) for years outside of racing and been to the 24hrs a few of times and when you used to race at Croft.

I'd love a 2CV.

I drove some, but never had one by myself.

But I got 2 sedans Ami 6, an Ami 6 wagon and an Ami 8 wagon.
Wich are based on the 2cv (chassis and engine), but more developped (and more expensive as well when it was new).

I dit more than 200 000 kms with the first one ami 6. The original engine broke down at 203 000 (crankshaft breakage).

I used to race with Neil at Mondello, Pete won the championship in my car way back in 2006.

I always wanted/want a bamboo. Couldn't really tell you why over any other 2CV. If am honest it'll be the painted bamboo graphics and font of bamboo, plus the actual word bamboo is comedic.

Dyane owner here (had it since the mid '80s). Not going to the WM, as it's a bit of a trek from down here ;-)

Way down here, bottom of the North Island, New Zealand. About as far away from the Dyane's birth place as it's possible to get.

I’ve jumped over from the TVR forum and had to reply to this thread.

I bought my 2cv just over a year ago and have to say it is the most “fun” car I have ever owned!

The car is completely basic in every way but is charming in a way that no other car I have owned ever was. It draws more attention from passers by than the TVR and everyone smiles at it. It takes a while to get used to,driving one but once mastered it is fine and every journey becomes a challenge......

My advice is buy one, although there are still some rough ones around but half decent cars are definitely increasing in value.....

Did you go the stripe styling on the side? Never seen one like that before (you do get a beachcomber with similar, but in blue).

I think 2CV helps you to drive better and look further up the road to avoid loss of momentum! 24 days until we set off for Croatia in ours!
