406 hdi intercooler on to 306 hdi

Can anyone answer why they did not put an intercooler onto the 99-01 306 hdi 2.0L.
and does any think or has anyone hear of people puttin 406hdi intercoolers or 206 hdi intercooler onto the 306. Is the only other option an aftermarket intercooler, I want 140 bhp from my 306 hdi.

The HDi 90 didnt come with an intercooler on any car, only the 110 engines got that treatment.

I expect Mr Whippy will be along shortly as he has been looking into this aswell, he should give you more info.

All the bits will fit across, but the intercooler will probably sit right where your current airbox is, and perhaps need the pipes cutting back so it sits behind the radiator rather than in it.

So you'll have work to do and it won't be so efficient, and you'll need a non-oem airbox/cone filter thing.

Then you need the custom remap, which is pretty hard to source well.
