Known issues with Diesel Megane

Had a minor diesel leak on a relatives 56 plate Megane (it's not the one I own). Porblem is with a split O ring on the diesel off-take pipe by the injector. Apparently these can be damaged when fitted, and then they eventually pull apart. It's a warranty repair, but it does make the car dangerous to drive if it happens (as it pisses fuel all over the underside of the car, wheels, brakes etc).
When I've booked it in for repair, I've been told that there is also a known issue with the starter motor - but I don't know if that is a common problem or not.
ETA: There is NOT an issue with the starter motor, it is just that as there was a fuel leak, if the starter motor has diesel on it they will replace it.
