Just had the new 2019 rear light fitted to the car. Am very happy with the new look.

looks good.
Did you fit them or is it a dealer fit and buy?

MOT today - the first with the Akrapovic fitted. Passed.

Put it in Sport for some fireworks on the way back home to celebrate evil

Summer is here and covid19 has given me some free time. While I wait for the decking to arrive I thought now would be a good time to start cleaning the mini.

So today’s job was to get the summer wheels ready.

They are pro race 1.2’s and are coming up to 7 years old. The paint is flaking on the rear but the fronts are good, No fancy coatings just a polish and wipe down with bouncers done and dusted.

If I keep the car I’ll get them refurbished

Nice wheels.

I'm thinking about getting some new wheels to replace the OEM 18" on my F56 JCW.

What's the consensus on adding spacers to the JCW? Will it ruin the handling...?

Depends how wide you want the spacers, i just went for a lower offset to bring them out.

I don't have the slightest clue as to how wide LOL. I'm looking to get some work done at Lohen Mini so will get their take on what's recommended.

Last week I needed to swap out the adjustable anti roll bar drop links due to perished rubbers, and swap the wheels I had on, to some Rota blitz with 214/45/17 federal rsr tyres
Used my quickjack to raise the car, as its easier in my cramped garage than jacking each corner individually .

Started on the wheels and arches today and finally fitted the front mudflaps - well one of them, that’s been in the garage for the last 2 years.

2 more arches to go then we start on the top half and fit new badges and centre caps

Looking really good. thumbup

I really like what you've done with the hub and brake caliper. cool

I washed mine/blacked the tyres and polished the exhaust tips that's all! I keep thinking about swapping my wheels and tyres around from front to back and vice versa...or just replace the front tyres soon. I can't hang myself on what is the best thing to do.

Thanks, today I finished off the wheels and fitted the nsf mudflaps, gave it a quick wash and sprayed it with tac systems iron fallout remover

The car usually lives in a railway carpark and parks by the tracks so I was expecting there to be a lot more contamination but it wasn’t bad

I also polished the exhaust and painted the pipes silver although I’m not 100% sure it looks right

Tomorrow we start the big polish off and clean and protect the roof

Just want to get your thoughts...I'm thinking about changing the 18" JCW wheels to OZ Racing Formula HLT:

Here's a mockup of what the wheels look like:

Looks expensive compared to ultraleggeras
Are they very light?
I’m running 17x7.5 bbs, 215/45/17 gives more side walls for potholes
Car came with 18” wheels

I believe the wheels weigh 22lb / 9.9kgs. I thought they would be lighter TBH.

As you said, they are quite pricey...

I do like that, although Team Dynamics Pro Race 1.2 would look similar for a bit less cash.

What grey is that? Swear I wouldn't get another grey or silvery car (a couple in the fleet already) but with the contrast of the red roof and details it looks great (much better than a GP3 for sure).

Thunder Grey Metallic. Agreed the red roof and mirrors contrasts well against the grey smile

Not a fan of the team dynamics with the big writing round the wheels....

That looks very nice. Did you resort to spacers?
