Hi Steve,
Those cream door trims are available in red too if you fancy tarting up to tie in with the red seat piping rather than going black. My Mum's Cooper S has them in red in conjunctio with the piano black trim that you have. Though her seats have the white piping as red was not available except for the JCW. A silly rule as the interiooks looks mismatched...

Yeah, was thinking doing red like the JCW, expect the genuine parts will be rocking horse teeth second hand, I have retrimmed my mx5 dashpad in leather before so think I will just do it myself....
EDIT, actually my ebay skills were failing me, found a red set for the front doors and dash for £80...unsure, may still do it myself, think I need about £30 worth of leather

Mmmmmm, that looks nice. Expensive?
I have a black leather dash in my R58, but sadly it has black stitching as standard even though there is red stitching on the gear level gaitor as standard. I've now also got red stitchng on the steering wheel (recovered in alcantara) and on the new seats (Cobra).

May be of interest in regard to retrofitting the heated seats, someone on Facebook has done it, and says the modules need coding aside from the physical fitment.
R56 Heated Seat Retrofit done.
Massive thanks to Lea and Lauren from MINI Bitz for the great deal on the controls and wiring.
For those interested, all you need in the controls (which are plug and play, no wiring required), and the wiring which goes from the SPEG/JBE/Fuse box to the seat connectors under each seat. Then coding, which is simple, just add $494 to the VO and default the CAS, FRM, SPEG and IHKA/IHKS, to updated the coding in the respective modules.
Then buy heated seats, bolt and plug them in.

Didn't get around to fitting the loom to the seat bases this weekend, too busy spannering on my son's R50, plus the radio didn't turn up. Hopefully do it over the week.
Can you buy the BMW Mini coding gear? Did buy one when I was into SAABs and it was paid for quite quickly doing coding jobs for people.

right, knee op done & dusted 2 weeks ago, now can bend my knee enough to play on the mini again, so headunit out and trim panels out this weekend for re trimming. Almost had it a year!
Good to see you almost back to be working on the Mini. My rebuild seems to be attracting more money at the moment. MOT advisory mentioned play in the control arm bushings so I have had those changed and the ARB while the subframe was off. It still has a slight knocking noise under load, but that might be an engine mount?
Also now seems to have developed a clunk noise on the rear left. Nothing on the MOT, so might be an exhaust hanging rubber. Worst thing is that the tachometer was replaced by the previous owner. The mileage was correct, but started it the other day and its changed and showing 28k instead of 106k. Need that recoding which is £150. Plus needs tracking and two new rear tyres as well.
This is becoming a serious money pit at the moment.
Will be fitting this in the morning, now have the heated seat buttons too

Hi Steve, looks like the worst of the deconstruction is done and it will start to come together soon.
I noticed the new speedo dial not in MPH. Do you have something that will replace / cover?
The android replacement screens seem to only come in KPH, it wouldn't bother me, as who looks at that speedometer, when the one right in front of you is easier to see I noticed the new speedo dial not in MPH. Do you have something that will replace / cover?
