"Not like an Elise" I expect
I watched another review from that Joe Achillies geezer yesterday:
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=YGvszLvy8HI
Same list of woes and pros as raised by other reviews.

Weird review and I find he discredits himself a bit. Basically moans about most aspects of the car then tries to say how you should go and buy one...I watched another review from that Joe Achillies geezer yesterday:

Two more recent reviews from youtubers
Petrol Ped, although just on a crappy looking bit of airfield so no road perspective
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FBXX_u7viFo&li...
And one from Stef ABtv, on the road
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_rsip-SXYVM&li...
I do find parts of it very appealing, but a common theme seems to be emerging with the darty road manners. And I still find the arches absolutely minging to look at.
A lightly tuned F56 JCW seems to make more sense as a B road weapon if you look at some of the stuff you can do (Lohen, DT Edition, Mulgari warbird that Petrol Ped reviewed as a few examples).
And you needn't spend thousands on mods either, from the above examples I wonder if just a set of Eibachs and a 280 odd bhp remap would do to give 95% of the fun without the crashy ride and kamikaze tramlining.

I’ve been considering one of these as my next car.
Just done a quick AutoTrader search.
Two cars both brand new. As far as I can tell very similar specs and both at mini/BMW dealerships.
One priced at £33k near as dam it and another at £42k.
Why such a massive spread in price for what looks near as dam it the same car? Is it just some people trying to speculate on a limit run. £33k is just about acceptable but £42k. They must be in dream land.

Latest evo review this month tests it against Renault and Golf. They did not like it at all and it was in fact quite a scathing review.
Gearbox, handling, torque steer, engine noise, pi$$ flaps all noted in the negative column and cited as not a patch on the previous two incarnations of GP.

Such a shame. Quick check of AutoTrader shows 18 for sale in the UK. I don’t know how many have been handed over so far but even if it’s all of them, that’s a chunk. Not exactly selling at a premium either. Gearbox, handling, torque steer, engine noise, pi$$ flaps all noted in the negative column and cited as not a patch on the previous two incarnations of GP.
Such a shame.
But, tidy GP2s or F56 Challenges are going to be very safe places to put your money for the next few years. The Challenge is probably going to be the last proper fast MINI and they only made 53! That’s where my money would be going now.

It looks like £34,950 is the lowest price currently with a lightly used one at DMB (approx 4k miles) - it’ll be interesting to see how the prices hold up, especially if you’re prepared to briefly take finance with a Mini dealer as there could be some extra leverage on the price during the quieter December/January period.Just done a quick AutoTrader search.
