Thinking of making the move over to Amsterdam. I am in New York right now, and was in London before.
I would be coming over with my US wife. We have both lived in a few different countries before, so don't expect any move to be so hard.

While I have a background in banking, at the moment I mostly build Artificial Intelligence with some IOT and Blockchain.
Have tech conversations in NYC is easy as IBM Watson, Microsoft, Twitter, Google etc are all here.

How receptive to modern technologies is Amsterdam at the moment?

Can't help directly as I'm not tech or banking (or in Amsterdam....) but I'd say that, in general, the Dutch are very receptive to new technology etc so that shouldn't be a problem. I'd suggest checking out some of the Expat websites (undutchables, expatica etc) and Linked-in to see if there's much work available in Amsterdam.

I'd also suggest you check out other sites - for example the Hague/Delft/Rotterdam area has a lot of tech going on as well as a lot of international offices and organisations who are regularly recruiting (I know we are always on the look out for people at the EPO) and you could also check out the Eindhoven area as that's where Philips are based.
