Garmin Fenix 6 - hrm issues

My 5S Plus takes about 10 minutes to realise my HR is higher when exercising. The first 10mins are say in the 70-90 range, then it suddenly picks up. Pretty much after that it's fine.
On a 30mile cycle its distance is about 1/4 mile different to my phone gps, but thats not enough to bother me.
