Last game of the year done and dusted.
A decent 81. With just the 5 three putts, a proper duff chip that went a couple of inches followed by a predictable thin that flew the green at close to the speed of sound
Other than that, I hit it pretty well considering the course conditions.
I’ll close the year out on 5.3 and 103 rounds played this year.

Had an interesting lesson yesterday - was a bit apprehensive going into it as I'm really not a keen winter golfer - if it's sub 5 degrees or raining in staying in bed - so hadn't played too much recently, but swing is still generally working with some inconsistent contacts.
Anyway, turns out I'm still flipping slightly on the way through trying to help the ball in the air, meaning I'm hitting the ball too high and losing a little distance. Went through another drill, so full swing on the way back but only half a follow through, meaning I don't really have the time to flip. Results were very encouraging afterwards, consistent contact and an extra 10 yards on pre lesson - all with only half a follow through.
Seems like 2025 is the year to go all in on the Fleetwood Follow through
And on that note, as I'm settling into my drinking trousers I will wish you all a very Happy New Year, and see you all on the 2025 thread

103! Lucky man! I managed 23 total but got to play in 4 countries which isn’t bad. Down to around a 10, from 13 at the start of the year, not bad! This years goal, see at least a single ball speed of 180+ but I’m definitely dreaming A decent 81. I’m joining in this year. Started going to the range about 18 months ago but finally started actually getting out on a course over Xmas. Played two rounds of 9 holes with my father before and after Xmas then did another 18 on my own the other day then 9 yesterday. The best 18 I went round in 110 but managed 50 on the last 9 I played. Driving ok of the tee but short game needs lots of work where it’s not been practiced at the range.
Goals for the year just to get an official handicap and have enough lessons to get some consistency. Feel like I have a big problem with my low point at the moment, keep digging huge divots every now and then. When I strike it cleanly seems to go ok otherwise.
Well ended the year with a 14.1 handicap after 35 rounds. Best score of a 79 which was very pleased with. Short game ended up being a key strength of my game with work required on putting. Aim to get into single figures for 2025. Goals for the year just to get an official handicap and have enough lessons to get some consistency. Been a better year for working on my golf, down to 6.2 which isn't easy as my course is a tough track and I play a lot of Open Comps. Got my club speeds up to 120chs and 170Ball speed as a goal but its not workable on the Course so to get some data I had a two hour session with Joe Hewer at Drayton Park today as a treat, they have GEARS 3D analysis and Dual Swing Catalyst plates, he was really good and has good credentials as he has recently helped John Parry on European Tour to a win and 2nd. This wasn't why I went, the data was what I wanted.
Changes will take a while but im dedicated!

After really struggling to turn in the recent cold weather I am determined to get stronger and more flexible. I’d be surprised if I’ve had a CHS of 90mph when the temperature really drops.

Oxford.I can only get 120 when im hitting it like a complete nutcase. If I can cruise at 115/8 I'll be happy.
Key is actually deaccelerating the heavy load created, think what happens to the passengers in a car braking thats instantly stopped at 100mph compared to only tapping the brake.
