We (England) have a very good chance of winning the Championship, if France beat Scotland, then we will have won, because we beat France.
You what ?????

You what ?????Match Points
Scored Points Difference
Number of Tries Scored
Individual match outcomes don’t come into it, even in the event of all the above being the same.
If France win with a BP they win.
If France win with no BP then England need to win WITH a BP to be equal on Match Points AND they need a 80+ points difference to Wales to overcome France on Scored Points Difference.
If France lose then if England win with a BP then they win overall. If England win no BP and Ireland win with a BP then their scored points difference dictates table standings - all to play for there.
If France and England lose then Ireland and Scotland get interested, Scotland would need Ireland to lose and to beat France by something like 40 points in order to win the title (and France to not get a losing BP).
Basically, France are odds on to win the title, England can secure second place with a BP win, Ireland can sneak into second if England slip up or don’t get a BP and Ireland do.

We - England- beat France, so therefore we must be the champions - right?
Whoever beats the champion, must be the champion. It is common sensingly obvious.
