Buriton is a lovely little Hampshire village, but it is a little village. You're staying in its entertainment hub - unless you count the duck pond near the church a few yards further down the road on the corner.

Some like that sort of detachment (I certainly do) but others might start bouncing off the walls after a couple of nights, especially after the initial idea of staying in somewhere as busy as Portsmouth. I foresee a nominated driver status at some point in your near future! biggrin

I would be surprised if you had time to even notice the village you will be staying in.
Revival days for me are usually up at 6, to the circuit for about 7:30, then back to a hotel in time for an evening meal followed by early bed so as to be awake at 6 again for the next day. Maybe I am just getting old!

Nice. I'm often in Buriton, friends live there. There are two pubs, both nice.

If you see a chap in a Morgan Three Wheeler, or on a tandem bike with a hungover blonde pedalling on the back - wave! smile

You'll have a blast.
I think I may have seen you this summer I was in vicinity of Buriton saw a tandem and commented to the boss that was the way to go about life!

Just looked on the Goodwood website to see if there's any information on the Revival, sadly nothing it's probably a little early. Seems like the China Virus is causing havoc in the sports world.

Coronavirus update

Dear Member

I am writing to update you on the situation regarding coronavirus (covid-19) and Goodwood.

Further to the Government announcement this evening, we regret to inform you that The Kennels and all of our restaurants across the estate will be closed from tomorrow, Saturday 21st March 2020, until further notice. The Hotel will also be closed, as will the Health Club and Waterbeach Spa but our two golf courses will remain open. The Aerodrome will be open for our own members and visiting pilots. However, the Aerodrome cafe will be closed. The Motor Circuit will be open for limited use including increased opportunities for cycling for both members and families.

We will continue to review plans for our summer season including the Festival of Speed, the Qatar Goodwood Festival and Goodwood Revival, in the hope that all these events will go ahead as planned, as well as looking forward to the soon-to-be rescheduled 78th Members’ Meeting.

We have always been wonderfully supported by our members and for over three hundred years Goodwood has been a place where friends, family and guests come together to celebrate a love of sport and so much more. We are deeply saddened to have had to close so many parts of the estate but we also understand that for now it is the right and only thing to do.

In order to keep close to our community all our social channels will remain open and I hope we can offer a little entertainment and escapism during the challenging days and weeks ahead.

If you have any bookings for March or April please wait for our team to contact you.

We will be in touch as soon as we have any further information about when our businesses will re-open. In the meantime, if you have any further questions please visit our website for coronavirus FAQs ( https://goodwoodmail.com/4S6T-BEC9-HSC11-8M9N5-0/c... ).

Much look forward to hopefully welcoming you back to Goodwood just as soon as these extraordinary times are behind us.

The Duke of Richmond and Gordon

Definitely get train from Portsmouth and take taxi from Chichester. Don't use bus from Chichester it is £7.50 return this year so £30 for 4 taxi cheaper get the drivers number and ask her m to meet you arrange same driver each day get to know them and they will look after you. I use taxi in that area a lot
