I also received it, presumably as a GRRC member and Revival ticket holder.

I'm sure Goodwood are on the case with emails if there are letters going out, they are normally very good at communicating what's happening

from Tuesday 16th June, no tickets of any kind are available on the Goodwood website for Revival 2020 - might be a precursor to an announcement, which if no tickets availalble for 11-13 September, probably means it will be postponed or cancelled.
Sadly true .... spotted elsewhere .....

"We have had to take the difficult decision not to hold the Festival of Speed and Revival this year. For a business like ours, which is all about bringing people together to enjoy the things they love, social distancing has had a catastrophic impact on our ability to operate. It is a worrying time and we are doing what we can to salvage a future for our events."

No mention (yet) of what this means for those that have bought tickets.

I had hoped for some meaningful acknowledgement that my membership fee was effectively for nothing this year but apparently if I don’t ask for a refund I can have my name somewhere around the circuit and there will be some trees planted.

I think they could have done a bit lot better than this.

I am sorry that the Revival isn't going ahead - it is usually my only 'holiday' in the year. It was, however, inevitable.

Though I have been a bit whingey on this thread in the past, as far as I can see, the move in to the GSA isn't too bad.
I am still digesting the information, but it looks like an 'upgrade' from the GRRC - no idea what that will bring in the future though.

It is broadly in line with an idea I already had... I appreciate the efforts of the GSA when it existed before the events started. They then seemed to get gobbled up in to the GRRC.
The problem being that the GRRC keeps getting diluted - think Fellows (who should have been associates).
I thought that say after 10 years, there should have been a step up as a reward for loyalty.

This situation might be a bit of a reset.

Not so good for recognition of those who invested their time as the original GSA though.

I reserve the right to change my mind if my current interpretation of the offer is wrong!

From what I'm reading you have the choice of rolling your tickets over, exchanging some (FOS or Revival) or all of the tickets you have for a GSA membership (in which case the tickets are cancelled), investing in the GSA for future events to support Goodwood or if your circumstances are that you really need a refund you can ask for one.

Reading more, it looks less clear.

Yes, I think you can get a refund if you want - though I can't actually see that written anywhere.
You can roll the tickets forward for next year (though the 2020 tickets are now cancelled - interesting if you got via eBay or a secondary site I guess) New tickets will be issued for 2021.

GSA is offered 'free' in return for Members giving up their £240 for this year.
GSA can be 'bought' for £100 if you are a Fellow.

Not clear if the GSA is a one-off or needs to be renewed at a cost annually.

And seems to run in parallel with both the Members and Fellows (cough, Associates)?
i.e. You can be either a Member AND GSA member or a Fellow AND GSA member...

In fact it also appears that if you are 'just' ordinary public, you can also pay £100 and be 'just' GSA.

Info for those who need it (from the web links above);

How do I request a refund?

To request a refund for your 2020 tickets, please contact our Ticket Office at motorsportenquiries@goodwood.com with your order number, by 31 August 2020. Your order number can be found on your email booking confirmation. Please bear in mind that in order to comply with Government guidelines, we have a reduced team who are dealing with a high number of enquiries. Your request will be processed as soon as possible.

How long do I have to make a choice?

After 31 August 2020, your tickets will roll over automatically to the 2021 event.

Or you can be none of the above and just make a small donation

Letters will arrive this week I understand, and emails will go out today to those with tickets and GRRC membership.

The GSA seems like a decent plan to be fair.

Whatever happens, I still want Goodwood to be there next year and beyond. As a result, I'm happy to give them enough rope by not demanding refunds for all the tickets I bought 6+ months ago, or for getting some money back for all the benefits of being a GRRC member that I've been unable to use...

Time will tell if the GSA is a good idea or not, but for now, I hope they can keep going and can put on a good series of events next year.
