Great 1st day today after not attending for a while. Arrived around 11am and took 15 mins to get in and parked. Did the Defender experience which was great. 3 more to days to go so hoping the weather stay's as good as it was today. Really is a fabulous motoring event.

I didn’t think anyone’s had a queue at 7am.

Went yesterday & lovely day (weather wise) and busy...but not too busy (Thursday = Def. day to go, now!)
Also; Didn't take long to get in ( Left home in East Grinstead at 7:30...and in just after 9:00)
Been going virtually every year since 1994 and seen some changes!
So; What did i think, this year?

Overall; Very good and enjoyed it - But virtually none of the main manufacturers i used to see in the past.
No Merc; VW, Audi,VAG group cars (inc No Bentley) No French cars, (apart from Alpine), No Abarth, I could go on..

And what is "frightening"?.....To see the Chinese invasion of manufacturers / Other makes now owned by Chinese and built there, like MG, Polestar, Lotus etc.

In another 5 years time?...Everything there will be either Chinese made, owned (or both)... and all electric.
How depressing is that?!

We went yesterday. Great day overall and perfect weather but it did seem like the Chinese communist party conference especially the MG event. I think there may have been some non Chinese manufacturers there as well.

Most of the manufacturers you quote are there with multiple entries - particularly Mercedes and VAG. They’ve got competition (and road) cars entered across the event.

This is the most important part of this thread each year. Please keep the mudcast coming. Going Sunday raining today and some forecast tomorrow.
I am 20 miles from Goodwood.

100% confirmed for me the Chinese/Korean takeover of the automotive world. The place was dominated by these brands and their latest offerings, the big brands were hardly to be seen. A very stark contrast to when I last went in 2019.

But no big presence off the track where people wander around and poke at your offerings.

I have pretty much zero interest in new mass produced cars so I was very happy.

Massive Mclaren stand, Pagani stand. Supercar paddock. Didn't see a single outlet selling EV type stuff apart from one deserted one selling putting electric motors in old Land Rovers. Concours area without a single EV. Big Rolls Royce stand. Huge Porsche area. Paddocks rammed with fantastic ICE vehicles.

I walked past anything EV apart from the new Alpine hatch which looks funky and so much nicer than that Honda thing.

It's still petrolhead heaven as far as I'm concerned even if I am slightly deaf today after enjoying so many F! start ups.

If you coming on the train for bus transfer which is usually a great choice ....big queues this morning (11am) with a bus every 10 mins. Factor that in ....guess it's grown in popularity but still easier than parking, maybe

Agreed. We go at the weekend and aim to be there between 7 and 8. Never had to queue as far as I remember.

One point about the obvious Chinese invasion is just how goddamm ugly they are. BMWs looking almost stylish by comparison.

I’ll be cutting down to one day next year. Get an early walk around the pits and enjoy the remaining petrolhead bits. Not sure we can blame LM for moving with the times but it does feel a little bit like a sellout. Commentators protesting a little too strongly about how wonderful everything is, just like F1 when a race has a handful of overtakes.

Went yesterday, lovely weather, glorious!

Going again Sunday, but trying to find some grandstand tickets as twickets now not listing anything as 'event in progress'! Doh!!

I was thinking this Wednesday night as a friend is over from overseas and whilst I’m working thought it would be something fun for them to do that they would be interested in. But Twickets Doesn’t allow for last-minute deals/meets like we would have on here.

Top tip...don't wear white trainers!
It's very muddy in places along the walkways, but not to the point it's a problem.
The car park was interesting this am, especially up a slight incline in my MR2.
With no more rain forecast, it should be fine tomorrow.
