Can you imagine how long these things would actually last? I can't imagine either the road bike or MTB making it past the first mile without a rattle, creak or something escaping from it.
Only one way to find out, we should all chip in a tenner and buy the roadbike, it could be passed from PH'er to PH'er, the only stipulation is you have to use it in your next sportive or race
If you chaps will buy that TT bike, I'll happily try some KOM hunting on it, in and around my local woods and heathland. That should do a decent job of "testing it to destruction"!
I went to pump the tyres up on my town bike and had another look. The wheels are indeed plastic, with gold foil decals. It's a good job they have discs, as I imagine rim brakes would be rubbing from the flex in a mild crosswind.
