What utter crap.

Sack them all. Set up an organisation in touch with their membership and the fans.

....While there are vast countries like China and India doing a billion times more damage, if that's what this is all about.

They are one of the most incompetent organisations I have ever had anything to do with.

Utterly petrified of losing their control, are held to ransom by environmental lobbyists and listen to them far too much instead of being proactive about defending our sport, what it offers the local community and how it can benefit the economy. And also encourage people tog et out and about and watch things in a world full of gaming, tv and phones and lethargy.

Yes, if you look at drag racing it is a dinosaur, it is based on petrol power, the more the merrier, there is little it can do to appeal to the green lobby, cars are noisy, burn full fat fuel and more.

But it takes place in a contained space, has a good safety record and is cheap and easy to get into. And in the UK is a very niche branch of the sport.

The MSA for me are not fit for purpose, have allowed rallying to be completely ruined and are now allowing rules to be released that are so badly written that they appear to ban practices that have been used in several motorsports for decades.

Just, very poor all round.

Yet they still charge for ARDS tests and rally tests etc, anything to make money to pay the gardeners!! Pathetic

Why was the rule even thought about in the first place?

This rule was changed as soon as it was brought to the attention of MSA representative for Drag Racing. It was aimed at those who warm up tyres on circuit tracks in unsafe ways.

that's still not a very clear rule though as it suggests that weaving to warm tires is not allowed?

Don't get much intentional weaving in Drag Racing...
and who cares about other motorsports?

I think to be honest this seems to be aimed specifically at speed racers and the fact that doing this, if it went out of control could injure the start marshals who are necessarily very close to the car and track to position the car before the run.

Common sense in my eyes really. Although a little unfortunate for competitors who have been doing it for decades!!

Am still curious that it might affect rallycross, as the same thing happens there, albeit usually further away from cars, but in theory a car could still leap into eh start marshals there after a tyre warming run,
