I am seriously considering one of these as my next car.

Anyone else? Have you managed to get a finance quote yet?

If it helps anyone my brother in law is a sales manager at Honda , happy to get some info for people if it would benefit anyone. I think his demo type r comes in august.

Seems the new car is abit of a weapon!

My local dealer also said that they will be getting a demonstrator in August. No finance figures available yet, so he can't give me a quote.

I've just asked him now , maybe he can do some digging and come up with something before general release.

As with any anticipated model I don't suppose discounts will be widely available.

I work in the Swindon Honda plant that builds these so see hundreds of these in all different colours! Out on the road I still think they look fantastic, great road presence.

Honda had three at GFoS so I had a good look around. Looks great in the metal. Yes, it's completely OTT, but I like that.

I must admit i've warmed to them and i havent seen any one the road yet.

I warmed to the last one too.

Should be a bit of a 'machine', i reckon.

It's ok from the front, great from the side and hideous from the back. Hopefully Honda do sort it out. I'd drive one happily, but I'd half shut my eyes until I got in the car.

I ll get a spin as I believe my sisters fella will have it as his work car for a while .

He had the last one, my first two cars were the EK9 type R and then the facelift so I have abit of a soft spot for them.

I have just part exed my focus rs for an m2, so will be able to compare the 3.

They do look pretty wild but I like it. It's the same as when the Lancer Evolution and Impreza started getting wider arches and bigger wings in the 90's, it cuts a stark contrast to pretty much everything else around. It sounds like the performance of this new model is pretty wild.

I'd love one. I also love the FK2 and i'm not sure which one i prefer, looks wise.

I've said this once and i'll say it again though, it's the size that puts me off. It genuinely looks like the size of a compact saloon. That's a deal-breaker for me when looking at a hot-hatch.

There's also the fact that i cannot afford one!

They are quite big! Will be awkward to park, I think.

It's not really that for me. My B9 Audi A4 is a doddle to park for the most part, given it's fairly large size and dimensions.

It's more of when you're pressing on at speed. For me, it wouldn't be too confidence inspiring. I know not everyone would agree there.

I know what you mean. Other concerns for me would be a low front spoiler and too stiff suspension. However, the spoiler looks high enough, and according to early reviews, the suspension is compliant, especially in "comfort" mode.

Yeah, fair enough. Maybe i still hold an old school hot-hatch mentality in my mind and i know the game has been upped recently with the new breed of fast hatches.

For me, a hot-hatch is small, light and nimble, amongst other things. Turbocharging isn't really too much of a problem, in my eyes. Ford got it exactly right with the MK7 Fiesta ST.

Finance figures are likely to be similar to the last one according to my local dealer, 10k deposit £300ish pcm on pcp. For a new FK2 I was quoted £480 pcm with £1.5k deposit with a £2k discount from the dealer.

I've just seen a red one parked up. Had a good look around it.

It looks absolutely...................

....stunning!

Could hardly fault it! The three exhaust pipes in the centre are a bit weird.....but otherwise......loved it.

The red/black contrast trim/wheels etc looks really good IMO.

As a counterpoint I was walking through a car park with a 24 year old woman when one of these drove past and she burst out laughing and said "look what that wker has done to that car!!". I informed her it came from the factory like that hehe

I have to admit I think they look horrible - like somebody has covered the car in superglue and ramraided Halfords.
