Cool car. Apart from the black wheels, a bit of a sleeper.

That sent me off to look for Concertos on ebay. There are only two, both automatics, and both described as "appreciating future classics" smile
He’s going back to the OEM look as soon as he can source the OEM trims

Certainly a good 1.6i-16 is a rare beast nowadays !

My unexpected long term love affair. Started as a very ropey standard example purchased while at Uni because I couldn't (and still can't) afford an S2000.

These cars get a lot of hate, for some good reasons. Handling definitely should not be one of them however.

I think a lot of the “hate” has disappeared, and Clarkson’s scathing review on Top Gear was a long time ago now.

PH did a used buying guide on them not that long ago. (https://www.pistonheads.com/news/ph-driven/honda-civic-type-r-fn2--ph-used-review/40880)

I think the standard car is a bit poor by type-r standards. Some careful modifications can help the situation however!

A different kind of Honda appreciation here. Just had one of my Hondas serviced by Listers. They offer a pick up and drop off to/from your house for servicing now. It only costs an extra £10 - absolute bargain. That's saved me having to use up half a day of holiday. It's a 50 mile round trip as well. The driver arrived on time this morning and the car was back inside 4 hours thumbup

reading this thread has mde me realise just how many Honda's i've had and my parents over the years...

parents have had:
TN360 pickup
Acty 1st gen pickup
Civic gen 2 - which i ended up with after my brother drove it for 3 months with the oil light on - new shells and still ran great
CX500
Triumph Acclaim - i know but essentially a Ballade

mine:
CB100N
CB400F
ST70 Dax - which i still have
Civic gen 2 - as above
Accord gen 2 - a proper rust bucket!
Honda Beat - currently in garage awaiting freedom
Honda Life - OH managed to write that off
ST70 Dax 'flower'- along with the other Dax at the back of garage

Beat has been to Le Mans and Classic a few times as well as Murcia twice and Picos d'Europe

Beat somewhere in the Picos

Can you imagine driving one in America alongside huge pickups and SUV’s ?!

  • not as nice as RotrexKid's EP3.... however.

First camping trip and a chance to catch up with some friends I haven't seen for far too long.

Thought for a phone pic this flatters the car for a change.

Haha, it looks great on those wheels! I’d bet that you haven’t blown as much money on yours as I have!

A couple of cheeky snaps today. She's been brought back in to daily use as I'm 'between cars' at the moment but all the better for it. Absolute pleasure to drive.

Looks lovely. What sort of mods/power are you running? I used to have an EP3 back in the day and absolutely loved it. I needed something more practical for young kids and so the ATR was the logical choice for me. It's part of the family now and don't think I could ever sell it. Like you, I don't drive it enough these days but will put that right next year.

Mods: lots! hehe

I have a full thread here - https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

Power wise it’s just under 360, it’s a great car to drive, I just had lots of bits I wanted to tidy up, most of which I haven’t got round to doing hehe

At least it’s safe and snug in the garage!
