My first Honda was a 2nd gen Accord - a hand me down from my father when he replaced it with a 3rd gen. I then married into a Honda loving family - father-in-law had 3rd and 4th gen Accord and a 5th gen Prelude. It took me a while to buy my first one. I got this a couple of years ago as a weekend car. This is from a few weeks ago on a day trip to Weymouth to look at the cruise ships moored offshore and drive some nice Dorset roads. I love it.
Sounds like your father and father-in-law have impeccable taste. You can't go wrong with a tidy CTR. thumbup

I recently bought an FN2 Type R and it's fantastic, I love the way it looks and goes, not really pushed the handling yet but it's like a little puppy, always pulling at the lead and wanting to just let rip. Fantastic thing all round. It reminds me of my 205 GTi in that sense of always feeling like it just wants you to floor it. I don't drive it that often but I love coming home and seeing it sat there on the drive looking all bright red and crouchy, like its about to pounce on something. TBH I am very glad I chose an FN2 over the EP3 mostly for this reason, it still looks so spot-on.

And the heads-up speedo is such a good idea, all cars should have this.

Only issue is a leaky boot which juding by Google results seems to be more when rather than if, currently working through the various possible fixes to see if I can sort it.

My first Honda, absolutely thrilled with it. Love the looks, and the whole car as a package. In very much looking forward for lock down to end, and for summer to come around!

^ Love the FK8!

My 'Teg is finally here! Not had chance to take decent photos of it yet (it's rained or snowed every day I've had it so far) hehe

What a way to kick off Honda ownership! Congrats! What did the FK8 replace? How are you finding it so far?

Have you just had it imported? The blue is such a great colour and I quite like the blue seats too. It shouldn't work, but it does on the Teggy. There is a championship white DC5 near me and I'm always amazed how up to date it looks considering the early ones are 20 years old now.

Thank you smile Really is a special car to drive, and really getting on with it well, I now understand what everyone says about Honda gearboxes as well! I find my self changing gear, even when I don't need to. I still can't get over how good it is around corners, I'm certainly looking forward to getting to know it more

Its replacing a 2009 Evora N/A, which was a bit of a disappointment sadly, I think it was just the particular one I had..

An Evora to any hot hatch certainly is an unusual path but the CTR really drives so much better than merely a hot hatch. Plus you have the added practicality benefits. I'm glad you're enjoying it. I was very close to buying one around this time last year - Red too (as it's the fastest colour) ;-) - but decided to tighten my belt slightly. A good choice as it turns out, I would have barely driven it! Once all this nonsense blows over, I will certainly be looking to scratch that itch once again.

I must admit, I did think I would keep the Evora for longer, but it had quite a few issues in a very short amount of time. Also after using for a bit, I realised I couldn't put the child seat and other half in the car at the same time.. So sadly wouldn't get used.

I had read so many good things about the FK8, and being practical, had to be in Red too, as it's quite a shouty car. It almost seems like a sports car, that happens to be a hatch back.

I would highly recommend one when you get the chance!

Yeah, it arrived in the UK in August 2020 through Torque GT, but because of registration delays it wasn't ready to drive until January!

I originally asked for any colour except blue for the interior, but good quality examples were really hard to find at auction. This one came up and looked good enough so decided to go for it. Honestly, the blue seats have grown on me a lot and now I think they suit the car.

I love the blue paint, just wish it wasn't so thin as it picks up stone chips really easily!

Hi all,

Other marque forums have a picture a day or something similar and I'm surprised there isn't a Honda one given some of the great drivers' cars they have produced over the years, so I'll start the ball rolling...

20 Years old and still going strong!
Same as mine same colour! Mine is '02, so will be 20yo next year Love it more every drive!

My brothers latest fun car.

Concerto 1.6i-16. D16A9 twin cam. Same engine as the non-VTEC CRX & EF Civics

Few little tweaks- filter, manifold, lightened flywheel, Rota alloys & AD08’s. Has also been lowered & re-bushed

Very retro- but also surprisingly good. The older folk amongst you might remember the Dunlop Rover 216GTi Cup that ran circa 92-93, essentially the same car mechanically..

Certainly looks good when it stays red! My last DC2 unfortunately went somewhat Milano pink though

As it’s a result of the pigmentation of the red paint, (which is under a layer of lacquer) no amount of polishing could ever fix it

Exactly why I ended up having to go full respray!

Cool car. Apart from the black wheels, a bit of a sleeper.

That sent me off to look for Concertos on ebay. There are only two, both automatics, and both described as "appreciating future classics" smile

Let's have some pics!

I have just treated mine to a new de-cat pipe and down pipe flexi from solid fabrications. I still have the standard manifold and back boxes but was worried it might be boomy or too antisocial. I am pleasantly surprised that it doesn't sound any louder than standard and it is definitely pulling a bit stronger. smile

Currently tucked away from the rain but will post some more pics when the weather improves.
