Are M3 E46s worth 30k plus?
not unless they're very, very low miles. Mid to late teens si where they are at for a good car.

as a driving experience are they worth £30k? I would say yes, but only with better brakes (pads/fluid) and a good fast road/occassional track geo which isn't expensive to do.

A good refresh- shocks, springs and some polybushing improves these cars no end. Obviously together with a good service- ALL fluid (engine oil, diff, gearbox oil, brake fluid) and if you put a big brake kit on the car just changes. All the above and you have a car that corners war better, changes direction better and you feel more confident as the normal brakes really aren’t great. These cars are soo much fun on a country road. All of a sudden they feel soo chuckable and kind of small in 2021. I’ve always said, buy a decent car, have a few £k to improve it and you’ll fall in love. This isn’t a daily family cruiser anymore- in 2021 there are soo many things that’ll do that better.this isn’t also a fast car in today’s world. But it’s definitely one of the most fun cars you can buy and one which is fast appreciating

In my early 20s back in the day when they first came out and I had the first gen Subaru Impreza 2000, I didn't think much about them from the price, grip, torque etc... Why would anyone buy one of those?!!!

As the years have gone by and have tried different cars, I fancied getting a weekend car to drive NOT a garage Queen, so about three year ago ish I decided to take look at cars from that era (France, America, Japan and German) BMW for that era came out top for me, I preferred the way they drive, build, comfort, performance, etc...

Next stage was to get one, I looked at Couple/Convertibles Manual/SMG. I decided on BMW M3 Convertible Manual, I like the look of the Convertible a specially when the top is down plus the sound and just enough performance.
The family wagon is BMW X5 but , My daily is a GOLF GTI 7.5 (Don't worry I'm not one of those D'''heads that has pops and bangs) I would say the GTI is quicker on everything but the way the older cars drive, smell, etc... ITS FANTASTIC!!!

Sorry moving onto the present day and the prices on all those type of cars, I would say to you Just by one, I've missed on so many cars just waiting, reading reviews like Quattro's UR, Deltas, Skylines etc... JUST GET IT YOU ONLY LIVE ONCE and if you don't like it then sell.
