My dealer has insinuated they know the score on these and are starting to take deposits.
Any more info? Or which dealer is it and I'll get in touch myself... No info other than it is to be a CSL not cs/gets. I think any dealer will be taking orders now.

Going to be out of reach for most on price I would think

Saw this so emailed my dealer but he's out of the office until tomorrow.
Emailed my contact at Farnborough and they wouldn't confirm or deny whether a CS or CSL is coming.

If you work on 8-10k more than a base M2 I dont think you'll be far off.
What I would say is that will probably get you an M2 with the M4/M3 engine, different suspension maybe some lighter panels. The option list isnt going to be minimal like the current M2. Seats from the M4 CS/Comp pack, bigger brakes, Lighter forged wheels, carbon interior will all bump the price up.
I guess BMW want to keep the base price below an M4 comp pack but in reality if you spec an M2 CS with all the trinkets you want to set it apart from a base M2 its not going to be cheap. 60-65k is my guess.

Really interesting thread and keenly following as also have a ‘registered interest’ for M2 CSL.
From everything I have heard from scouring the net it looks like CS will start production March 18 with the S55 engine but detuned to 405bhp and the CSL having the M3/4 Comp pack engine upto 450 bhp but I would have thought to keep some breathing space between higher range models I would expect more than the base M3/4 engine rather than comp pack.
M2 CSL production to commence March 19 but limited to 1000 units globally whereas CS like the M4 CS to be limited by production time rather than quantity.
As with other people I went through same process of having to provide car history for vetting purposes and was advised the process is as follows:
1) Register your interest with deposit.
2) At point of deposit provide car history with BMW.
3) The request is sent to the sales and planning team within head office to co-ordinate.
4) History will be checked/verified via BMW service centre records as well as DVLA history.
5) At point of car being launched you will hear back (possibly slightly earlier) to confirm whether you have secured a vehicle or not.
6) If you have secured a car, you will be asked to come in and spec it within approx 2 weeks or risk loosing build slot.
7) At this point it becomes committed unless you pull out and deposit is refundable.
8) Wait for delivery or your slot will have been passed onto next person on the central list.
I am intrigued as to the amount of people that are on this list as have asked repeatedly to find my position but no-one seems to be able to confirm but I know I am second on my dealers list which gives me hope of getting one.
I am also hoping that having the E36 M3 Imola Edition aka GT2 may help my chances of securing one along with other e36s/39s/46s/f30 and Alpina will help favourably but not holding my breathe until I have confirmation.

Anyone heard anymore news?
I have a deposit down and awaiting 'approval' from BMW with my dealer of a build slot but I'm hopeful my BMW history will be good enough to be accepted (4 M cars, 3 other BMW's & an S1000RR). Hoping it will be a limited run and be pretty good on residuals, I'd love to get my hands on and keep something special after missing the boat on cars such as 996 Turbo, M£ CSL, 1M....

Whereas I had a salesman approach me and as I haven't placed a deposit have had a couple of follow up emails asking if I'd still want one.1) Register your interest with deposit.

I think its BMW ///M(arketing) at work. Creating hype by spreading stories that Buyers need to be super pre-approved, and suggesting values will "rocket" just like the 1M. This isnt a £300k Ferrari. Gassing Station | M Power | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
