What are peoples thoughts on buying outside the dealer network? I never have…….. I have seen a 21 plate car I really like but it’s at a random dealer that I haven’t heard of. The car looks immaculate and has only done 3500 miles and has over 2 years manufactures warranty so I am thinking it should be OK??
Thoughts?
I bought my E63 M6 private and my M6GC from outside the dealer network. In both cases I then took the BMW insured warranty which has never let me down and saved loads on dealer prices. Shop carefully and it is fine. In the above case you have the manufacturers warranty anyway but it seems you are too late someone else has got there firstThoughts?
I think it had Bowers? But apart from that was Grey on Silverstone, neither of which are rare.
Also, re the warranty, an Indie won't assure you it hasn't been tampered with, and there would be limited comeback on them if a year later the warranty isn't valid (remember the civic thread - which I think is still going a year or two later).

Agree completely with this, I have had every M5 since the E39 including pre and post LCI F90's. The LCI F90 is the best M5 I have ever driven. I'm not sure why anyone asks about petrol consumption though. Just don't bother getting one.
If you could buy another M5 of what you’ve owned which would you buy again?E39 M5?
That said, the F90 is the better all round car in terms of performance, handling and level of refinement. But the E60 was just visceral. (I followed it up with the E63 M6 which was just as good)
I loved the E39, it was my first one, and had a great engine as well, but it would be a toss up between the E60 and F90 tbh
I know it doesn’t match exactly as it’s done 33k miles but Cazoo have a well specced car for £51k.
Good history and run in service done on time.

Saw that. One huge issue for me - which I should have mentioned in my post - really do not like the white interior. Ideally looking for black inside and out but am flexible on exterior to a degree, less so on the interior - could go for a dark tan interior with a black/grey/blue exterior....thanks for the tip though.Good history and run in service done on time.

Fair enough. The Silverstone interior is by far the best in my opinion and makes the car. I never buy black interiors but we are all different.
I have a marina bay blue one with silverstone. I love it.
I hope you find one, they are great cars.
I have the same mine is Smoked White , I would never buy a black interior car.I have a marina bay blue one with silverstone. I love it.

I’ve only ever had black leather interiors and tbh I’ve always really liked them.
However when buying my M5 I was faced with an uncomfortable decision of having to go lighter (Silverstone). I had many concerns over how it would wear and pickup dirt/stains etc. but actually it’s been the best decision ever. I love it and it really makes the cabin a nicer place to be. It’s probably my favourite aspect of the car, after the exterior colour (MBB).
To prospective buyers I would say it’s definitely something that has to be seen in person to appreciate.
