To anyone who's driven the standard M5 and the competition - just how noticeable is the difference?
Quite a significant difference. The standard car is not to be overlooked as a comfortable daily; it really was very subtle and under the radar. Feel the Comp has more presence visually (sits lower and to my eyes beautiful wheels). Much better turn in with the camber settings and tied down. Feels 10-20% stiffer imo. Power wise you’ll not notice any difference.
Enjoyed mine for the last 30 months; only managed 14k due to the lockdowns and being replaced next month with incoming Taycan CT. A wonderful daily; just wished the M5’s sounded better (sounds much better to the passer by: very mute inside). Be interested what the dealer offers me; don’t know if can be bothered with the hassle of selling private…..

This might belong in another forum but does anyone know what the deal is with Michelin PS4S? I have a rear flat and cannot find a 4S anywhere (285/35/20R). Michelin recommended it on their site but no one seems to stock it. Best I can find is a Pilot Sport 3 but I really want identical rubber all round.

I think it’s global supply problems that means ps4s are scarce.

Have you tried on the f90 Facebook group?

Is this not because the 5's are now out?

Think I have found the M5 for - non competition but its plenty fast enough for me.

A question:

Does running them on standard 95 RON as opposed to the ultra/ultimate higher RON fuels make any difference?

Yep car drops about 40BHP.
every day driving at speed limits you will not really notice it. Booting it you will.
I always use Sainsbury 97 or TESCO 99, never ever had a problem, avoid SHELL it makes no more power and costs the earth.

I full tanked mine on standard unleaded unintentionally last month.

I noticed no difference at all under normal driving condition as the previous poster said but as a rule I use super all the time.

This is a real worry - in some ways if you run a set of tyres out in two years you may as well get a back order in now and who knows they may appear in due course. If you sell the car and not used the tyres then that’s a nice upside to sell on at cost to the new owner.

Hey guys

Got this arriving on Friday, pre lci but the latest model with the new dash and idrive 7. Silverstone/black interior. Spent ages looking for the colour combo with the spec I wanted, didn’t get B&W but in the end it had everything else I wanted and the HK was good enough.

Booked in for MSS springs with Evolve for the perfect balance of handling and comfort, seem highly recommended on the pre lci comp. Can’t wait!

I have been looking for a LCI Comp and really want one with the B&W sound system. Does anyone have this? Is it any good? There only seem to be a small handful with this option so I am limiting myself if insist on having it. Seems odd that so few have it…….

I also quite fancy the laser lights, anyone have a view on them?
I have both on my Ultimate, lazers are very good and give a good long light.
B&W is nice it's better than the std, but you need to be into music to get the best out of it.
Rear seat entertainment is a novelty my daughter likes it, she watch's the TV all the time, but it does drop out in some places which does not go down well.

Vs Michelin Pilot 4 S super sorts - materially worse. It’s why BMW fitted them with such good rubber not cheap brands.

Plus you’d have to buy 4 hooks or Hancock and then sell off the 3 part worn Michelin

Is it standard for there to be no physical paperwork with the car - servicing receipts etc (the car I am looking at buying had the service pack apparently)?

If buying used you’ll not receive any GDPR so dealers destroy the invoices as it contains previous owners name address etc.

Bizarre generally but even more bizarre as the previous owner will be named and shamed on the V5!

No they won’t, the V5 doesn’t show previous owners details anymore, it just says how many owners.

Picked up my 2021 Competition. Brands Hatch Grey, light grey interior, Comfort pack plus, Tech pack plus and visibility pack.
Haven't had a BMW in ages so just getting to grips with all the settings!

Can anybody share their M1 and M2 settings for road use?
Specifically the DSC/4wd settings. The car came with DSC off in M2 and I must say it makes the car feel like no other 4wd car I have owned, including a 991 TTS. And I mean in a good way.
I'm wondering if DSC off is ok when the roads are wet/cold? I've now owned 4wd cars for years because I depend on that rather than any driving skills.
Thanks
