Done about 4k miles in mine since March 2023. Really is a special car IMO. If you are waiting for one you'll enjoy it I'm sure.

There are elements of greatness in the car, damping is really well judged - I had a Guilia QV and it feels similarly forgiving at low speed, totally usable. As everyone already knows it will keep pace with almost anything.

The way the turbo motor builds boost and power, and individual config set up is frankly amazing. Reading between the lines if this is the first (and perhaps last) M3 estate without any hybrid power the engineers had a great platform to work with, without too many constraints. Everything from now on will be more compromised IMO. Nice touches are tyre temps shown along with pressure, the integration of the radar adaptive cruise is spot on.

Picked mine up Friday after getting a dealer to take a deposit before it could be ordered (that was October 21 and we all knew it was coming!).

I’m incredibly lucky to have driven and owned some great cars but this has really surprised me. Don’t get me wrong I knew it would be good, I just didn’t expect it to be this good.

As a serial car changer I’m actually considering keeping this one. Never thought I would hear myself say that.
This colour combo looks spot on. Well done!

Anyone got one of these in Send/Burntcommon - I spotted one yesterday - dark green/black-ish?

My neck of the woods. Will keep an eye out.

I did spot a black one coming off the A3 bypass at Ripley a few weeks back.

An impressive looking tail pipe arrangement on this one which I saw at the Goodwood Breakfast Club this morning.
I think it looked great (obscured the reg plate obviously)
Was another in a violet colour parked up in the wood garages behind the pits.
They do look fabulous pieces of kit, I’d surely go for one myself but my budget could only stretch to the half price option, an X3M Comp

Absolutely gopping. Don't understand why BMW have designed their MPE with that arrangement.

Have an M5 coming up to end of it's 4 year term - options are to extend the finance for another year or:

Tempted by one of these - there seem to be alot appearing on the market (alot more than the 340i Touring) just wondering whether it might be viable option by the end of August, but I suspect keeping the M5 for another year might be the cheapest by a fair margin (if I change I would go estate and smaller hence the 3 series).

A lot on AT are 1 owner speculator cars. There are a few at dealers but depends on whether aligns with your spec expectation. Getting a build slot before Sept likely to be difficult.

Build slots are available on dealer ordered cars which don’t have spec locked in. A few dropping out of their orders with additional contribution and Apr dropping to the same as the saloon, maybe by the end of the year or next year.

If you wait another year you could have an M5 touring instead.

This will be a £130k+ car, but its launch will undoubtedly impact sales on the M3 estate so likely big deals to shift units in 2024 imo. The mortgage rates filtering through are going to hugely impact the disposable income available to waste on high apr pcp deals as the year progresses- there’s got to be a lagged impact. Buy and enjoy, but just appreciate the true cost of financing at this point in the market.

Yes, I’ve noticed a lot more on AT as well. Most of them seem to have the carbon buckets with the codpiece thing in the middle of the seat though, understand on a hard core two door M4 but not sure those make sense on a multi-purpose touring. A lot are in the currently fashionable off-white grey colour that looks like primer too.
Would like one some time, prices seem to be holding up for now but I guess they’ll soften as more arrive & with the news of an M5 touring + maybe an M3 CS Touring too

biggrin Yup not a fan of the Brooklyn Grey either. I think it will be a "moment" colour. They do look good in dark colours, so Black or Tanzanite from the standard colours. If you are braver then techno violet or similar looks absolutely stunning. There is a thread on m3cutters with lots of pics of different colours.

Agreed on the Carbon Buckets. They look lovely but my wife immediately vetoed them as not being practical for a family car. As previous posters suggest, discounts will come eventually. There is probably more chance on one of these stock cars but next year you will probably see something on the factory slots.

i am completely numb to new car prices now but it would not shock me if the new M5 tourer was starting from £150k. Especially if BMW start pushing the last ICE M5 line.

Bump!!

Is this the most frustrating thread in PH M Power history?

Loads of very loud noise from loads of people who were definitely buying the car and had deposits down with dealers and then when the car was released…….. silence.

I’m really keen to know how the Touring is working out for real people as prices look to be getting closer to what I think is acceptable and I still think it’s the car I want next.

Did anyone else buy one?

And if I could be so bold, please don’t reply with your opinion on the car’s cost, either new or used. That’s been done to death.

Let’s hear from people who have owned one, please!!

Or is there a better (i.e. active) forum for (ideally UK-based) M3 Touring owners?
