It was pretty ratty anyway and was broken to fund the MR2 Turbo which has just made way for the NB at the top. Full circle (pic of MR2, because why not):
Tidy looking example. Genuine Rev 5 or a retrofit rear spoiler?Enkei RP01s and, if I'm not mistaken, a Blitz Nur-Spec R peeking out from the rear bumper.
I know another PHer with a turbocharged MX5. First generation: pop-up headlights get extra Nectar points.
Nur-Spec indeed, very loud and very flamey!
At the end of last year I had two cars with pop-ups, now I have none
Finally got it set up how I want it, so took it out for a spin after getting the alignment sorted on Tuesday. Glorious day so got some snaps, too.
BBR Super Sport exhaust, Eibach 20mm and 15mm spacers, Eibach Pro Sport springs. Couple of cosmetic bits, too: pressed plates, stubby aerial, smoked side repeaters.
Only things I want to do now are some uprated pads and lines when the time comes, as well as some Pilot Sport 4s.
The thing ain't fast but you can still be a bit of hooligan/spoil your trousers with such a low weight and short wheelbase. Well I can, anyway.

Your photos have given me a pang to take mine out for a proper drive again.BBR Super Sport exhaust, Eibach 20mm and 15mm spacers, Eibach Pro Sport springs. Couple of cosmetic bits, too: pressed plates, stubby aerial, smoked side repeaters.

I think the Mazda dealer supplied springs are the same as the Eibach Pro Sport set? I had them fitted before collection and have no complaints about ride and it doesn't roll nearly as much as the standard car. If you like pointless accessories Mazda (or others) will sell you a set of replacement indicator bulbs that fill up from one side to the other, and the acrylic wind deflector is nice to have for longer roof down drives at higher speeds. Only a magpie moron would want the indicator things of course; mine only took 10 mins to fit
How are you getting on with the BBR exhaust? I'm pretty sure my car has a trip to BBR in it's future....
I had a glorious drive in my NC today.
Just had it fully refurbished and changed to some lovely coilovers.
God it was glorious.
Honestly I live in the South East and it’s absolutely as fast as it needs to be. I’ve had quicker cars and they’ve always frustrated me. The MX5 you can rev the crap out of it all the time. So much fun.

I'll led to believe the springs are the same. I'm sure Mazda would disagree if any warranty work came up though...I think the Mazda dealer supplied springs are the same as the Eibach Pro Sport set? The exhaust is good. Quiet at a cruise, 'sporty' on the throttle. Bit of a drone off the throttle at lower revs but it is what it is. It's a four cylinder at the end of the day so will never sound brilliant but the BBR back box is one of the better ones I've heard. The odd little pop when you're giving it the beans.

At least it enjoys being revved out, I bet a CAI would sound good... The odd little pop when you're giving it the beans from the exhaust too.
