Took a few photos today. Didn't think to take my camera so these were taken on my girlfriend's iPhone (my phone camera is awful).

Wastwater.

Scafell at the back.

Whin Rigg screes.

Me almost being roadkill.

Mine has been out a lot recently due to being remotely mapped (great excuse to snatch an hour). It's now running sweeter than ever, so last weekend I decided to treat it to some Revlimiter gauges and a good clean. Such a fun little car.

Last summer I bought a set of Enkei 'Formula W-1' wheels (6/14" et 45 cast centres with spun barrels / rims welded to them) and as I was in a hurry, Yesterday I tried them on my project 1990 Eunos.

wheels as bought.

as I'm obviously rushing, the car was bought ~20 months ago & has hardly changed (save for getting it running as needed a cambelt)

the car came on some dreadfull tsw 90's wheels that need destroying...

Enkei's fitted, the suspension needs looking at as both front springs are snapped so excuse the arch gaps.

planning to actually work on this car soon but I've an other ('91) that's priority....

in the workshop earlier & realised I've been ignoring the engine for the '91 Eunos lately so took a photo to try & force some interest...

okey, I'm lying slightly as I've been working on some internal mods with another cylinderblock (measure once etc.)

anyway, inspiration & mess in one image....

Rich.

Picked up an S-Special recently which is pretty immaculate underneath as it's been garaged the entire time it's been in the UK, though I made the usual mistake of viewing it in the rain and the paintwork isn't great, so a respray may well be on the cards at some stage to rectify. This is how it looked when I bought it:

Though discovered after closer inspection that the Volks are actually staggered and have clearly swapped ends at some point, as they were 15x6 at the rear and 15x6.5 at the front, so took very little man-maths to replace those with a set of 14x7 Enkei RPF1s, managed to sell on the Volks for £600 on eBay so I'm not left too out of pocket there.

Of course with the Enkeis on the wheels looked a little lost in the arches so I figured some coilovers were needed, but then managed to upsell myself to Ohlins. Given I've got zero mechanical ability I decided the sensible thing to do would be to try and fit them myself, so copious amounts of watching YouTube over the weekend meant that I had a rough idea on what to do, couple of trips to Halfords for a Torque wrench and then a 21mm spanner for the front wishbone bolt resulted in a very satisfying few hours on Monday, though when I looked at the old Bilsteins once I was done I noticed I'd missed off the little plastic gasket on the top mount for the last one, so had to whip that off on Tuesday morning (luckily booked two days off). It's still not super low but rides really nicely and I plan on taking it to Wheels in Motion for a proper alignment and geometry setup in the next week or two.

Mate grabbed a quick shot of it when I dropped his jack back round.

That must be absolutely utterly fantastic to drive on ohlins with 14" RPF1s, is it very light on it's feet?

Yeah it's really responsive but still nice and supple, where my Leon Cupra crashes over various bumps you barely notice in this. Went with Nankang NS2Rs as there's very little in the way of options for decent 14" tyres, though the downside is they're pretty heavy due to how stiff they are.

I am thinking of going down the Ohlins route with my ND, for wheels I can't decide if the lightness of 16" wheels is worth the squish of the extra sidewall and the poor tyre options but it's a lot of fun when it's on the OEM 16" wheels and winter tyres.

I'd have kept those wheels and bought some JPS decals. biggrin
