Is it just me? - or are the prices of some (all) of the upper end big twin Harleys are ridiculously expensive - knocking-on £30K and more. Just seems so disproportionally expensive compared with other bikes on the market.
UK Harley dealers have gone through this same type of 'cleansing' a number of times in the past - we 'lost' Stadium HD at Chingford........replaced a couple of years or so later by Lakeside HD at West Thurrock.........which didn't last too long either!
Be tempted to say that alternative bikes like Indian have created too much competition but don't really see too many of those either.

No, its not just you, its part of their problem, plus the emissions issues regarding air-cooled engines have pushed away many of the 'traditional' HD types that are now keeping what they've got and not are not contemplating changing again. Another part of that problem is the recent changes in HD CEO's where the direction of the company and future models was scrapped completely and changed with a 180 degree turn by the new incoming CEO scrapping all the new project bikes that had been designed (and even announced as going into production) eek
Many traditional HD owners have switched to Indian as well, and now, with the closure of many Harley dealers, Indian actually have a better dealer network..!!
There is now only the one HD dealer within the M25, and that's Warr's in the King Road. There was just the HD dealer in Watford which was technically within the M25, but that closed down a month or so ago, with the collapse of Lind who owned the dealership, which they also owned the HD dealer near me in Wokingham which also closed at the same time. Warr's also closed their SE London dealer in Mottingham a year or so ago as well, and so in the whole of the South-East, there is now just Warr's, a dealer in Maidstone, one in Guildford, Sykes-HD down near Eastbourne and the one in Newmarket. That's it!

Personally I’d go Indian every time,
The sightly toned down Glitz's is so easy on the eye,
We’ve a dealer local who does the full ensemble HD and Indian plus every other make,
It’s called the foundry, nice vibe to,
I called in once with the RT and was given a fabulous welcome,
My current favourite is a soft tail , complete with saddle bags, proper pony express stuff,
And it’s brown!!!
Who the fu— wants something brown, but it suits the style perfectly!
Go figure

So many people seem to hate them - the very thing that all other bike are not - heavy, really heavy, seemingly extremely unweildy, in excess of $50K in the 'states - I'd love one.......drop it and you'll have an issue getting it back-up again........but not the trikes

News for NaT if you haven't already heard about it, as it just down the road from you so to speak.

There's been an announcement this week that permission has been given to start the creation of a drag strip at former RAF Manston, initially as a 1/8th mile, but with the intention to have a full 1/4 mile strip in place. The team at Santa Pod have been helping the people at Manston get this project off the ground.

With only the Pod now as the last remaining strip in the UK, its keep fingers crossed that this can be a commercial success. Its proximity to the Channel Tunnel might well help, with easy access to those from t'other side of the Channel, just as Lydden Hill was popular with foreign competitors.

71 blue 455 HO T/Am auto on Car & Classic in Nice for 10 Euro's under 80K and the Plum Crazy RT is back on

their live auction at a bit over £33K with a little over a day to go,

Watched Iconic's, Historic's and Hampson's auction the last few weeks and cars are still selling but with a high percent

after the sale at much lower provisional bids probably meaning that the auction house will only receive the buyers commission .

I suppose with all the play boys on the French coast the seller probably thought it would be worth a try !
Stupidly expensive for here though !

The RT looks a nice thing it’s just to expensive here also
Times are bad so one really has to suck it up and take a hit or just leave them in the garage!

Me too, Seen plenty of Mopar 's with column shift,

Always looked a bit out of place in Chargers and Challengers,

You'll also see the occasional 429 Torino Cobra strangely with plain jane black vinyl bench seat, minimal instrumentation and column shift auto - very bland interior yet often with fancy graffics outside (see Cobra moniker on hood scoop). Note stock poverty level 2 spoke steering wheel has been replaced with aftermarket unit.

Didn’t sell but still made good money I’d have thought?
Fully optioned or not I wouldn’t pay that much for a 338,
That’s 6 pac territory, but as ever each to there own

It probably will end up changing hands at around 50k
Which is still 16k more that my RT returned me,
Silly prices aside I still firmly believe 35k is still the upper limit for most of theses cars in the current economic conditions, were the buyers are fairly normal people,
So when prices exceed this by a good margin the buyer pool must be very small now for old school muscle cars,

XKE’s Healys etc are all in the same class , personally I don’t give a Sh— as I don’t ever have one for investment purposes!
If I get my money back after factoring in all the owner costs I’d consider this to be a result!

Reserve 'nearly met'.......laugh

From the previous attempts at selling, I bet its still over 10k short of what he wants for it, and despite the market clearly telling him, he's not going to get what he wants for it now, he's at least persistent laugh
As you say, its too expensive for a 383 auto, despite having every other option ticked when new, they didn't tick the important one!
The UK in the current climate is just not the market for this car at the price he wants.
I think 54k is a high bid tbh, and probably more than the car is really worth in the UK now. The market has cooled elsewhere in Europe as well.
He'd probably get what he wants for it if he shipped it back to the USA, but he'll be in for the shipping costs anyway.

It’s almost certainly got a 338 as Chrysler would not supply a 440 if air con was specced ,
And in our world now it’s completely irrelevant whether the cars got leccy windows and door solenoids !

And while we are back to muscle what about this animal,
Wicked looking car with the baddest motor,

Was that engine ever offered as an OEM option in a Mercury Cyclone (or Ford Torino) ?

Absolutely no idea?
Loads of weird and wonderful contraptions keep showing up !
Like this Bad Boy, always liked the AMX, short stubby and with a 390 and a 4 speed , they always looked good,
This one’s a quick car !
