Only been to Goodwood once - that was the Festival of Speed a few years ago. Was given a couple of complimentary tickets by GM when they had a display with new Vettes etc.
Not so keen on the Festival but you really need to go to the Revival at least once in your

life rosco, you may find it will become addictive, good tele coverage now but nothing and i

mean nothing can make up for actually being there, the noise, smell and sheer excitement of

all these lovely old cars moving around even when in the pits, I'm not so keen on the dressing up bit

as i said before it's quite often hot and i am a shorts and t-shirt man but do enjoy watching other people's

outfits, love seeing the ladies in their period cloths whether it be the glamorous 40's 50's looks or the swinging 60's

it's all good fun,As aeropilot said Fridays a good day as less crowded but you really need 2 days even 3 to see it all,

In the car park whether it be the classic or public you will see cars from all over Europe who have made the

long drive, even American accents from those who have flown in, I'm lucky because i'm not to far but neither are you

compared to some. You will be able to park the Vette in the classic car park just ask for a pass when buying your ticket

it doesn't cost anymore.

There's always lots of yanks in the car park, seem to be more and more every year.

Sorry if i sound like a advert but you really do need to go even if it's only the once and the ladies seem to enjoy it as well, yes

A good friend invited me to the Festival of Speed a good few years ago. I was real unlucky with the traffic. A lorry had overturned on my inbound route and again on the outbound route. From at the time living in NW london it took 5 hours to get there and another 5 hours to get back home. I swore never again. I have been to the members meet a couple of years ago. That was enjoyable.

Morning! Any views on this? When I dip my toe for the first time..maybe it’ll be something similar..appears to be a fair price but I know nothing other than what looks nice to me!!

Like that Charlie - seems a sensible price compared with some vehicles - grille needs a little fettling perhaps to line-up.

There’s a ‘79 Camaro for sale on FB which looks a nice enough starter for someone:

Description In ad said:
Chevrolet Camaro Auto 1979 small block 350 V8 . Runs and drives.

Sounds really nice.

It’s recently had a new water pump fitted Brand new Holley carburettor.

4 new tyres fitted 6 months ago .

There is a Small blow on the down pipe.

I think It needs a front wheel bearing replacing as it’s a little noisy.

Paint work looks bright ,a few places could do with improving, it was painted about 5-6 years ago to blue , the car was originally red .

MOT and TAX exempt.

May take a P/X

£10,995
(Awaits information on why this is the worst year of Camaro to buy and it’s actually worthless hehe)

Just a unattractive looking car, all 74 on are pig ugly, smogged to death, rust like Italian Submarines , should i go on laugh
Chevy just never got, Pontiac Keep't the TA looking pretty good, so hasn't suffered the same ...............................................

The best of a Bad Bunch would be a 74' Z28, Manual............................................................................

Blimey i also made the error of putting Diesel in the Chally this morning, it was only the oil on the pump handle that woke me up! Fu----g Diesel with a V Power Logo identical the the Petrol one!

Been out for a big run today , Spent most of it sitting in Traffic, due the the A2 being closed, and bloody temporary traffic control, seriously wondering now why i bother with the old car thing, its so rammed everywhere , sitting waiting for the old girl to cook itself , is now getting so tedious,

The Dodge Behaves superbly well given the grief, but from May to September its just no fun now, the rest of the time its raining laugh

Did that in the Vette a few years back (exactly the same scenario - a Shell garage) - it was like the North Atlantic during WW2 - shipping laying down dense smoke screens to hide themselves from the enemy................

That's the problem with todays traffic, you have to allow for a incident just in case there is one,

Had 2 this morning on the way to the beach, lucky both were on the opposite carriageway but it looked

like they were going to be stuck there for hours,Only way now is to leave in the early hours and chill out

when you get there,

If i was only allowed to go to one meeting in the season it would have to be the MM,reminds me of what the Rivival use

to be like, not good with crowds either ,being a short ass far to many 6ft 5" people standing in my way at the Revival, end up

over at St Mary's where it's pretty empty,

Done that toooo many times to mention, put diesel in a Caterham ,takes along time to clean it out of the deep bowls

of those Webbers, smoked for days after,

I don't use my cars in the winter like most of us,then i don't use them in the summer now, for the very reason you just said,

Need to take them out at 5/6 am to enjoy them, 2/3 rd's of my journey today is either 40 mph or 50 mph restricted on the M27 and A27

or grid locked on the Chichester by pass, no point taken either a classic or fast car in that with this heat,

sat there in my ice old air conditioned Lexus chilling, Was going to call into Goodwood first on the way to the beach for a quick look

around as the Classic Alfa Club had a track day there but if i did i would never get to where i was going or find anywhere to park when i did.

With most staying here for their holidays this summer it's going to be a nightmare traffic wise,

With the builders last week i will have to spend a bit of time in the garden chilling ,that's a thought wonder what they would

charge to dig me a swimming pool before they go. nonothink of all that money i would save on petrol not going to the beach.yes

Love the Italian thing where they'll have a house way up in the mountains where it'll be as hot as hell, yet the layout is all arse about face with living area and perhaps bedroom dug deep in the the rocks, so nice a cool during the day yet still temperate in winter when the snow's down. RR needs a seriously big undeground garage with a swimming pool 'on the side'.......

I'll have a word with the builders, see what they can cobble together in 5 days,

Trouble is i would have to sell most of the cars to pay them and i'd have a empty underground garage,

You'd have plenty of people (car people) wanting to visit - just think, what a relaxing way to finish off ones day at Goodwood.......

Yep just got back! absolutely beautiful down the front this morning, very few people , no DFL's they turn up around 10-30 ! laugh
Pretty much used the fuel from yesterday, but worth it, and i wont pick up the scummy oil burner stuff again, LOL..........................

RR any luck with Mk 2 Man ???
And yes i agree your mates Ford looks a nice car at sensible money, may be he's found your pending TA laugh
My knee's given me some grief this week , working and standing for hours deffo aint good! Ive also found driving the Dodge causes my knee to swell,
Think its the height of the seat, some my leg is always sort of out straight?
So think i'l have to put it away for awhile, im going to put up an add to test the water, thinking if it did make ok money i may be in a position to maybe find my bucket motor , and while being car less it would help my knee !laugh

I've worked out the answer to rat rod's current woes, it's simple really.......... sell the Lambo, use the money to get the builders to build you a swimming pool, buy a RR Silver Shadow, do a 'Keith Moon' and drive it into the swimming pool, job done, no need for the underground car park!
