2008 Challenger for 32000 grand hugely over priced I’d have thought,
First gen with first gen issues , the trouble with retro cars is now the first ones are old they look massively dated when compared to the lasted models,
What was a tad radical is now naff!
Probably needs another 20 years to become cool !
And yes I agree the Darts/Swingers are crap ,
The Demon/Duster better looking but not by much!
A body’s here rarely make more the 15K
But things have moved on so yes I reckon it’s a 20K car now,
This particular one would Bilzts most big block B body cars
It’s considered one of the best all round performance options for the Scat pac cars ,
The seller has now brought another car so I’m told so yep maybe worth an offer, but not just a blind punt
I’d have to view it first

Not sure why the C3 link didn't work, mind you I've been having PC / keyboard problems for most of the day. Nice car anyway.
Yes I'm pretty sure it's the same Countach you mention, previously blue and tan, there are some photos of it over in one of the Lambo threads. I love the lines of the original LP400, such a shame they only built 150, such a shame I can't afford one too! Also on c&c is a Countach replica with a yank V8 in the back.
Now then, what's this other car you accidentally put a deposit on....?
I did post about the LP400 on the super car forum some time ago, wasn't sure if you had seen it,Yes I'm pretty sure it's the same Countach you mention, previously blue and tan, there are some photos of it over in one of the Lambo threads. Only of a interest to a few on here i know. Probably just you and me.
Was tempted by that silver C3 ,a manual and the 350 bhp and i think they haven't had their day yet
Good ones will go up as long as C1's and C2's keep gaining in value.
Yes i did have a weak moment and put down a deposit .
I put a wanted ad in C&C for a 57 T/Bird a few weeks ago and more or less forgot about it
then last week i got a call from someone wanting to sell , told the guy i had bought a car so not really looking anymore,
He offered to send me some photo's and a video anyway so thought no harm in window shopping
which all went out the window when i saw the photo's ,Was going to wait till the 430 had gone but didn't want
to miss it like i did himming and haring over the white one that was on "The Market".
The guy hasen't got a V5 only a photostat and wanted me to applly for one but i thought if any problems i would rather him have them
than me so left a deposit while he sorts it out. just as well because his application got rejected yesterday on line and now has
sent off a form to DVLA which he now tells me will take up to 4 weeks to arrive,
I'm in no hurry just another thing to think about.

Very wise....especially given the DVLA are cracking down on a lot of stuff related to V5's of Historic VED class vehicles.than me so left a deposit while he sorts it out. just as well because his application got rejected yesterday on line and now has

The guy lives in a £3 million house in Weybridge so took that at face value
but he could be rented it, sorry i'm always very sceptical when not in charge of things

As if i haven't got enough headaches ,
Probably wouldn't have bought the El Camino if i knew
i was going to be offered the T/bird but not a fortune teller .
You feel the same way i do about Mustangs and the current prices but my
next move if i hadn't bought anything was a 66 notchback Mustang on C&C under Fords
not yanks, it's manual but only 3 speed ,would be a good candidate for a 5 speed i would
have thought, not keen on silver on modern cars but like it on classics especially with red interior
more period and a change from the usual red and whites ones, got Torgue Thrusts , Been for sale
for a long tlme but haven't a clue why as it looks sensational in the photo's .
The guy is asking £23K so i thought maybe £20K may buy it as that's the sort of money i really wanted
to spend, should give you a bit more room in the garage as they are tiny compared to the Challenger.
Not trying to spend your money, just a thought

Well, I'm just about to load the car up, and head off to Pendine for the VHRA fun and games
Good man not lazy like me ,Did ask nipper if he wanted to go as the guy i bought
the El Camino from offered me 2 pit pass's which would make
it worth while going as he's one of the competitors.
Weather looking good ,ENJOY !!
Nah wouldn’t want a notch ,
Funny looking things , and coincidentally they are pretty much the same size as the E body,
No the Duster would be first choice@ 20k
380 HP, with Dyno etc
If we can get a daily for 20K I may have enough left to get something else , no projects/ dogs than need a ton of work
So with. 20K budget it’s a challenge

Ringo bought it in '64 but sold it in '68 after a near fatal 'off'!

DVLA are super slow at the moment, its taken us 8 weeks to get the private plate off the 58 Bonneville, a catalogue of disasters and imcompetence from start to finish
That sounds encouraging , sounds like summer could be over by the time i get the T/bird. Good job i havan't paid for it yet,
at least the seller will be keen to chase it up if there is a longer delay than the 4 weeks wait DVLA quoted.

Well played RR, a '57 T-Bird sounds very you - let's hope the V5 thing sorts itself out in good time. When I bought the Maser last year the new V5 came back in about a week, I was pleasantly surprised. (just been stripping the front grille today so I can repair the mesh and repaint it).

Probably got my ex/wife to thank for getting me into them when she cleaned me
out and that's all i could afford bearing in mind how cheap they were back then.
Garage size seems to be your main problem which dictates the length of the yank
you buy ,lucky there is some decent compact muscle cars out there,
Was going to ask you whether you were going to the Auto Italia show at
Brooklands but just googled it and it was 2 weeks ago,
Use to be on top of the show
scene but with Covid canselling events over the
last 2 years i've lost my way a bit.
I may go to the Beaulieu auto jumble over the weekend and got the El Camino booked in
for next weekend 's Retro Rides show at Goodwood for 2 days then the Mopar and American show
at Brooklands on the 29th of this mouth. Going to try to get to as many shows as possible this summer.
Me and my dad came across another damaged Facel Vega 11 crashed by Charlie Drake in the New Forest
they really are a top celebrities super car in their day, My dads mate bought the 4 door Excellence with the
Lincoln Continental suiside doors ,totally outrageous tank of a car .
Funny you should mention St Georges hill ,I was there on Wednesday ,the guy selling the T/bird lives in the road
running next to it ,i think Tom Jones and Engelbert lived there to , Need to be a Billionair to buy a house there now.

Problem with these kind of places is that even if you could afford to live there.........you wouldn't would you? They are like 'honeypots' for all the low life, scammers and crims, not just in the UK but internationally too........they'll all assume that everyone living there is loaded with lots of nickable stuff in the house, garage and sheds.........even builders and other tradesmen will hike their prices when they quote in the area. Leaving your house either on foot or in a car is a risk every day.......

You have a good point , I wouldn't want to live next to a footballer and his trophy wife anyway.
My mate from school days moved to just outside Marbella and he said the same as you ,
he's now to scared to wear his Rolex or drive his Aston into any of the resorts especially Marbella at nlght
if he does they go in the nanny's Seat and leave his day watch on not to attract attention .
He said it's mainly Russians and other east euopeans with a few Moroccans for the more minor crimes
The Spanish play down just how much crime goes on as not wanting to scare the tourists and property buyers away.
There must be area's in the posher parts of London that have the same problem ,
There's parts in Bournemouth that you wouldn't want to walk in the daytime let alone at night ,
use to be such a lovely town but now full of immigrants that fill up the local hotels at our expence.
Sorry you got me going now rosco ,I know it must be the same in every large town
running next to it ,i think Tom Jones and Engelbert lived there to , Need to be a Billionair to buy a house there now.

Perhaps worse now than ever before......living in streets at Chelsea and similar areas and its rich pickings for the tea leaves both from the point of burglaries, but also car jacking and street mugging. Much the same out in the sticks too - drive a fancy late model car, wear the latest designer clothes, go to the top end shops and you're at risk once more. You won't want to be leaving your property unattended as your garden equipment will be at risk too. The 'smart' people know to use older, ordinary cars to get about in and to wear scruffy, nondescript clothing and have some nasty big dogs at home......
Sounds like you just described me apart from the nasty dogs,More chance of being licked to death and if the muggers got a ball i got no chance.
