Just likes to look and own something a tad unusual,
As I said it’s Buckinghamshire way so I guess it make the odd show etc
He's only a few miles from Motorama, and only 45mins or so from Brooklands, so he might turn up at the Yank show at Brooklands in Sept, or Blenheim for the Rally of the Giants in July, as that's only 45mins or so from where he is as well?
Same for any of the Bicester Heritage Scrambles, as that's only 45 mins or so from where it is now.

This afternoon at a little show a few villages over from me

Nice to it see out and about wink

The Maser Indy next to it is rather nice, a ‘72 with the 4.7 quad cam V8, quite rare in RHD too cloud9

Haha I thought I’d was a Matra Bagheera !
Obviously my Italian isn’t much good!

Down at Hythe all day yesterday, lovely sunny perfect day ,
I look I’ve just come back from Spain!

So RR how does the Chevy go? You pleased with it?
Going to view a Europa in the week, need to see if I can actually get in and out if one !
A deal may also be on with the Plymouth?
We’re getting closer, it would seem to be a nice level car,
But bog stock A body’s here are 20K tops.
If I brought it I’d ditch the bench seat , but that’s pretty much all I’d have to do ?????
Err yeah right …….

Do you know how hard it is to find bench seats for these yanks,

All these years of doing resto-mods with bucket seats and now apparently

bench seats are back in fashion, try finding one for a 55 Chevy in any condition.

Good news on the Plymouth front not quite sure about the Europa though,

sorry P5BNij i know you like them think a Griffith 500 is more you if getting away from yanks (for a while)

Sorry there i go again spending your money. rolleyes

Haven't collected the Camino yet ,the guy i bought it from serviced it and checked it through

so ready to go but he's been in Pendine since Thursday and not coming home till Monday.

Looks like Wed/Thurs will be collection day ,spoke to the original owner who imported it from the States

and he would have bought it back had he'd know it might have been up for sale especially now it's got

all the upgrades, mlght bore you with a list of them when i finally get it back.

How a mention of a Bagheera gets into conversation on a yank forum i don't know ,

only this one, I had probably the best one in the UK, didn't buy it out of choice ,another accident .

mad bonkers cosy 3 seater interior , half the fun was that nobody knew what it was and still don't .

Good luck with the Plymouth ,back to a manual again.thumbup

Yeah maybe?? I’d definitely bin the bench!
Obviously keep it safe and sound, but I throw my cars around, very dodgy with a bench ?? Specially if my wife’s on board, fabulous when ones 20 and got a smoking hot babe though bounce

But at my age I’d definitely need some support!
Nah done the TVR thing, enjoyed it but not again,
But the thought of a proper stick car which I’ve wanted for ages is a very appealing prospect,

I’ll just sit tight for now but I suspect if after punting the Duster about this summer and it doesn’t sell then I’d definitely be in with a chance ,
I’d go to 21 but that’s absolutely tops, as it will still fit into our budget,

I just looked into my very empty car hole and thought

Nothing worse than a empty toy cupboard ,well there is,a empty toy cupboard alone with a empty bank account,

been there never want to go there again , 2 years of making do banghead

Always found myself missing lots of things when there are no funds available, lost count of how many times i have said

" I would have bought that if i had the money" then soon as you get some the market seems to dry up

on what you are looking for, soooooo easy to get impatient and buy something only half right only to find a

week or two later something that's almost perfect gets listed.done it so many times ,still do.

"STOP LOOKING IN THE GARAGE" mlght help,it's not there nono

The Indy belonged to a friend of a friend, very nice car, he’s had it some time I believe, local car as well
I still think Indys are very underrated cars, even with the trident badges on most people have no idea what it is (easy to mistake for a Bagheera though! hehe). Back in June 2010 I went down to a classic dealer near Marlow to look at a Mk2 Mini Cooper (which I ended up buying) and parked next to it was a RHD metallic bronze Indy which just oozed continental glamour in spades, it needed work as it had been unused for several years but I couldn't take my eyes off it....

I kept the Cooper for a year then sold it to a mate who has since spent £15k restoring it, it seemed ok to me but having spent its first forty years living in Cornwall had some serious rot under the shiny old English white paint. He keeps teasing me asking if I want to buy it back off him wink

I still want an Indy. I still want a Urraco. I still want a Dino 308GT4. I still want an Espada. I still want a yank V8. Good 'ere isn't it....?

Lol
I know !
I am getting better though,
Ive got my name on a pair of custom rifles coming from the US, they should have been here on the 19th of last month?
I’ll give it awhile longer if they don’t materialise in the next fortnight I’ll bail,

Which will make getting another toy far easier to get around my wife!
She’s not anti me getting a car but doesn’t want me out in the garage ever waking minute like I was doing the RT!
And I’ve promised her I absolutely won’t buy a proper turd again!

I never noticed the Vagas car had a early none porthole hardtop and a continental kit , which was 56 only !
So I guess it’s was a bittzer even then !
As Trigger so eloquently observed “ you live and learn”

Neither did I....

Mind you in most of the episodes he drove it without the hardtop wink

Since we're talking TV motors, Robert Urich also drove a sweet looking '65 / '66 Mustang fastback in 'Spencer For Hire'...

You guys are ganging up on me rolleyes

Thought i got away with that one as the seller took the ad down obviously not quick enough

You guys should be in the police forcecop .

Yes that's the one ,wanted white or the turquoise blue and ended up with the colour i didn't want.

Think we spoke about why are they always in red with white hard tops a few weeks ago.

As i said the seller offered me the car from my wanted ad and i said got a car thanks but a few days later

he listed it on C&C with better photo's and i got excited so thought i'd better go and have a look .

With the white interior and white walls i'm going to paint the hard top red to tone it down a bit.

A set of Kelsey Hayes wire wheels come next although the wheel trims look be easier to clean..

Yes has both but keep fit windows,

Has a hood as well as the hard top ,

The white one in the auction only had hood but no frame $3K in the States

and the manual white car i looked at had the frame but no hood ,

not that i'm that bothered it's just you could get caught out miles from home

and end up like a drowned rat by the time you get home (no pun intended)

Not a cool look.smokin

thats nice, and yep having a canopy is nice, but put it up if it looks like rain? dont wait till its starts as lifting it into place is a mission!
And i love the colours, and youll never have the top on so does it matter what colour it is hanging in your garage!

hehe

and i say hanging as they weigh a ton! you'l never fit one single handed without a winch system.................................

Will be garaged so roof down but love the look with the hard top on just as much .

Not so much my 55 with no port holes,

Looks very tidy RR, it'll go with the '59 El Camino nicely beer

Our forensic examination of the classifieds and auction sales when they pop up is all part of the fun, all part of the chase..... even if it is often vicarious!

Wasting your talents driving the loco's, should be in special branch.

Your right the chase can be part of the fun but just like woman you

can get caught out and bring a bit of a dog home but a lot easier getting

rid of the wrong car .rolleyes
